Essentia Responsible to Assistant Director, Strategy Accountable to Assistant Director, Strategy Job Summary The role is a crucial post in leading the delivery of a world class Design & Development service and establishing a 1st class business partnering relationship with the Clinical Groups at GSTT. The role will be the conduit between Essentia Design & Development teams and the clinical groups, ensure a consistent service delivery, support for coordination of governance and supporting clinical groups to interpret GSTT 2030, the emerging Estate Strategy to support their demands for all aspects of GSTT Estate across all associated available space. The postholder: • Lead with the support of the Assistant Director the functional implementation of a clinical group business partnering function into 1 or more clinical function. • Hold responsibility for the strategic planning, governance, outline design then smooth handover to the project delivery team so that healthcare facilities meet the clinical needs of the Trust for one or more clinical groups for estate solutions varying in value from £50k - £100m. • Input functional priorities to the development and implementation plan for GSTT Estate Strategy having regard for clinical priorities developed as part of the new business partnering function. • Direct the team and self by example modelling the Trust values and behaviours, ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible Officers (SROs) and lead users to develop strategic outline cases (SOC) and outline business case (OBC) documentation; planning and coordinating key stakeholder engagement and integrating service delivery to ensure excellent customer service, meeting agreed targets and objectives. • Work collaboratively with a wide range of internal stakeholders and external partners to develop feasibility and scoping documentation (leading up to RIBA Stage 2 prior to handover to Capital Projects lead); compiling business cases associated with space demands. • Working collaboratively with project delivery teams to ensure the effective transition from OBC to Full Business Case (FBC) and project delivery based on a detailed understanding of stakeholders’ needs and objectives. • Lead team and self by example, modelling the Trust values and behaviours, ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion objectives of the trust are championed, supported and implemented. objectives of the trust are championed, supported and implemented. • Direct the team to manage the development and implementation of Estates’ space management strategies and policies. • Works collaboratively with the Assistant Director, Capital Projects to ensure that project proposals are deliverable and achievable to time, budget to deliver the clinical outcomes outlined in governance. • Build high quality strategic relationships with clinical and operational service leads, to ensure consistency of approach and to ensure critical interdependency risks are transparent and managed. • Direct the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trust’s integrated short, medium and long-term property and space strategy, ensuring the most beneficial approach is taken to owning and using the Trust’s property portfolio, to ensure it makes the optimum contribution to the objectives, ambitions and goals of the Trust. The aim is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the estate, rationalising property where appropriate and optimising the use and value of the assets. • Lead implementation of space management strategies and policies together with associated space norms and data bases to optimise effective allocation, utilisation and management of space throughout GSTT subject to institutional sign off. • Day to day engagement with Senior

Strategy & Project Delivery • Support the development of space norms/ metrics and associated space management policies for GSTT wide implementation and compliance. • Support and work closely with the Director and Assistant Director, Strategy in the development and implementation of space strategy and associated policies. • Lead all stakeholders and professional teams in the early stages of projects (RIBA 02) as they emerge from the medium-term capital plan or the emerging estate strategy through strategic briefing with end user client to ensure optimal solution and clear definition, working with capital projects to ensure alignment. • Work closely with the Space Managers and Data/CAD team, advising on the structure, format and content of space records and associated data systems. • Advise clinical groups how to enhance the use and efficiency of space. • Lead, plan and undertake extensive and continuous stakeholder engagement to ensure a detailed understanding and interpretation of existing and projected space demands. • Manage regular forums for space related discussions between clinical groups and the estates department.
