Corporate responsibilities • Be a key member of the team setting and delivering the long-term strategic estate development agenda for the Trust. • Represent Essentia at Trust management meetings as necessary. • Actively promote and champion the equality, diversity and inclusion ambitions of the Trust and Essentia. • Participate, and on occasion lead, negotiations with external providers and enhance the Essentia brand working in conjunction with other colleagues. Personal development • Ensure that professional knowledge is continuously updated and training undertaken if appropriate. • Participate in an annual performance review process where objectives will be agreed, performance monitored and personal development needs discussed. Other • From time to time, to provide support to Essentia colleagues undertaking other duties as required, which are consistent with the grade and nature of the post. The role includes work on special projects as they arise. • Strict adherence to departmental health and safety regulations and requirements. • Any other duties appropriate to the role. • Requirement to work at any other site used by the Trust, partners or clients. • The successful applicant will be required to work on site 4 days per week.

Space Management • Development and implementation of space management strategies. • Work with partners including stakeholder engagement to ensure a detailed understanding and solution development to existing and projected space demands is met whilst ensuring maximum utilisation of assets. • Develop space norms/metrics and associated space management policies for GSTT wider implementation and compliance. • Development of comprehensive, accurate, accessible space records with procedures for ensuring maintenance and updates. • Collation, analysis and presentation of key space data contribution to strategic decisions; ensuring accuracy and timely submission of reports and annual returns. • Commission and develop direct property / space utilisation, rationalisation and development studies. Performance Management • Work within a performance management framework, ensuring that clear performance measures are in place across the team,

and manage a process of continuous improvement in relation to service delivery, identifying innovative approaches and best practice. • Analyse performance across the Trust’s entire asset base in relation to performance targets and strategic objectives, developing strategies and business plans, providing advice in areas where expert opinion differs. • Be accountable, and hold staff accountable, for the delivery of all agreed objectives and outcomes for the Trust, Essentia and any external clients or partners. Ensuring that effective action is taken as appropriate, where performance is at risk of falling below expected standards. • Ensure that appropriate strategies, plans, delivery and implementation frameworks are in place to ensure that an excellent environment for patient care is maintained at all times, formulating and adjusting plans and strategies in anticipation of complex environmental and political changes. Financial Management • Financial responsibility for the RIBA stage 0-2 project cost management for projects in value between £50k - £100m. • Ensure that services and projects are delivered so as to achieve value for money and meet all financial targets. • Ensure all staff comply with the Trust’s financial standing instructions and financial

• Collate, analyse and present key space data contributing to strategic decision making. • Drive new methods of working associated with space standards and hybrid working. • Contribute to post-project reviews, using lessons learned to develop best practice and continuous improvement. • Conduct or commission/manage property and space utilisation, rationalisation and development studies to inform space strategy development and policies for implementation. • Provide specialist advice to clinical groups and staff to optimise their use of space, supporting the development of new methods of working in line with evolving space standards. • Attend and contribute specialist space strategy input, including reports, business cases, data and presentations, to clinical executive groups, high level committees, programme planning, project team and other meetings as required. • Work with Head of Commercial to obtain realistic project budget estimates, cost plans for early stage proposals across all GSTT proposals. • Ensure full and transparent reporting, inter alia, to meet the requirements of governance/ committee procedures, standing financial instructions etc. internal and external auditors and wider partners for consistent project/ programme reporting. • Continue to support Capital Projects post RIBA stage 2 to ensure original briefing and clinical outcomes outlined in governance are
