COMMENCEMENT: JUNE 8, 2017 As the graduating class looks toward the future, here are a few last words to remember.
GRADUATION
LESSON ONE: HELP OTHERS
us: fine young men ready to change the world and make our school proud! My classmates and I have many great memories. Some include playing together on and off the field, and beating Town in soccer and basketball; performing together in the school plays and in the CSB Band and playing the song “My Shot” by Lin Manuel Miranda from the musical Hamilton ; singing at the top of our lungs during “The 12 Days Of Christmas” at Lessons & Carols; kayaking during the retreat and racing against each other; and best of all, beating the faculty in the eighth-grade/faculty game and then mobbing the court in a big huddle. I know we will leave with many great memories, but today I would really like to share five important lessons from our time at Cathedral. These lessons have contributed largely to our success, they have led us to appreciate what character really is, and, if we continue to remember them, I know our lives after Cathedral will be full.

The student was having some difficulty reading and understanding the story. I tried explaining to him what was happening, but he still didn’t understand me. Then I spoke Mandarin and, not
GOOD MORNING PARENTS, FRIENDS, STUDENTS, RESPECTED FACULTY, MOM, AND DAD. I am honored to have been chosen by the faculty from amongst the 35 other fine and talented eighth graders to represent the Class of 2017! It’s been a great nine years with you all, and as I like to say: “We started from the bottom and now we’re here, started from the bottom and now the whole class of 2017 is soon to be outta here!” Even though kindergarten was nine years ago, it feels as if it was just yesterday, and now in a few hours we will be alumni. We’ve learned a lot during out time as Cathedral students; most importantly, we have learned what greatness really is. I still remember the days in kindergarten, when our class had the reputation of being the most rowdy class of all time. But, by the time fifth grade rolled around, we had started to mature. Now look at
