RED AND GOLD TROPHY Howard Harden, The Red Team Captain The Red and Gold Trophy is awarded at graduation to the captain of the team that has scored the greatest number of points during the Field Day competition.

HEADMASTER’S AWARD Andrew Chacon The Headmaster’s Award is given, upon recommendation of the faculty, to that eighth grader who has shown outstanding improvement in academics over the course of the school year, and whose personal growth and development have been exemplary. FACULTY AWARD Nico Karpf The Faculty Award is given to that eighth grader whose character and commitment during the current school year have been exemplary of the excellence towards which The Dean’s Award is given to that eighth grader whose grade-point average is among the highest in the graduating class, and who exemplifies academic and intellectual excellence. BISHOP’S AWARD Matthew Tsakalakis The Bishop’s Award is given to that eighth grader whose academic ability, leadership qualifications, and extra-curricular involvements show him to be an outstanding graduate of this school. Nick is a litigator whose practice focuses on advising technology and financial services companies with challenges involving internal inves- tigations, internet law, and complex commercial litigation. CLASS of 2009 NATHAN L. COHEN Despite Oberlin’s struggling record (1-11), in his final season, Nate averaged 11.1 points & 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 77% from the free throw line. attending Tufts University, Christopher spent the last year at St. Catherine’s College at Oxford. His favorite classes were in-depth studies of World War II, focusing on Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler. Christopher then spent time on the White House Advance Team helping to coordinate President Obama’s press relations. He is applying for a Fulbright Fellowship next year in Colombia. KEVIN G. YEILDING Kevin is enjoying Boston University and he is now in his senior year. He has taken a semester off to work in London at citizenship.uk. CLASS of 2012 COLE C. PORTER Cole is a freshman at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. He is loving both the experience and the culture of the South. He pledged Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. CHRISTOPHER DOWD For his junior year abroad while

ROGER WARNER Roger called after Alumni Day to say he’s holding steady and things are going well in Oregon. He was sorry to miss the party but the big snow this year prevented him from traveling (or even wanting to go outside.) CLASS of 1990 ANTHONY MARCUS MILES Marcus Miles ’90 and Heather Aston married at St. James Episcopal Church, San Franciso on May 14, 2017. CLASS of 1994 ANDREW BARKAN It’s been a big year! Baby Alice was born on May 30, and Andrew & Polly’s “Ear Snacks: Songs from the Podcast” won a Parents’ Choice Award.

JOHN BESHEARS John is a dad! Charlotte Stella Beshears (CSB) was born last summer and is a wonderfully energetic and curious baby. Pictured below are John, his wife, Lauren, and Charlotte at their new home in Newton, Massachusetts.

MERIT SCHOLAR Brayden Mathews

The Owen Jameson Merit Scholar is that seventh grader who has earned the highest overall grade-point average in his class. For his diligence and hard work, this boy is awarded a full tuition scholarship. CHAPLAIN’S AWARD Jack and Matt Jacobsen The Chaplain’s Award is given to that eighth grader who most exemplifies a spirit of selflessness and generosity: a willingness to help and serve others, without thought for himself. NICHOLAS FRAM Munger, Tolles, & Olson attorney Nicholas was profiled by the Harvard Civil Rights—Civil Liberties Law Review for his role as co-counsel to the San Francisco Blue Ribbon Panel on Transparency, Accountability, and Fairness in Law Enforcement, which investigated potential systemic bias in the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD). The article features Nick’s pro bono involvement in the year-long inves- tigation, as well as the Panel’s findings, recommendations, and the response
