One day an uncle from a distant city came to spend a few weeks in the home. During his time there, since the family wanted to please him, and knowing him to be a Chris tian, he was always invited to say grace. The morning after he left, however, an interesting thing took place. As usual, the family gathered around the table. Each one started impulsively to eat. She thought on how the words went, “Take my silver and my gold, not a mite would I with hold." Suddenly the Lord brought con viction to her soul. She thought that maybe she had failed to follow her own exhortation. She remembered some of the lovely jewelry which had come to her personally through gifts or as an inheritance. She had a jewel box in * *
