CLASS of 2013

Alex Brenner ’09 and Max Brenner ’11 in Copenhagen

Timothy C. Stabler Timmy spent last fall on a West Coast tour with his band Mayya and the Revolutionary Hell Yeah, opening for Deer Hoof and playing to capacity crowds in Seattle, Portland, and the Great American Music Hall among other stops along the way. Before embarking on the road, he received the SF Little League Volunteer of the Year award last spring for five years of coaching Challenger Baseball. He was also honored with the first ever Bob Schleeter Music Mentor Award at Marin Academy for his teaching, guidance, and support of students in the music program. (Mom adds, “In my opinion, nothing says Cathedral alum like those two accolades!”) (Read more on page 46.) CLASS of 2014 Julian Manyika Julian was invited to be a student delegate in the first-ever International Congress of Youth Voices, held this spring in San Francisco. He’s now off to Boston, where he was recruited to play basketball for MIT. ALUMNI Together Alex Brenner ’09 writes, “I spent a week visiting my younger brother, Max ’11, who is currently studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark this spring. We had an amazing time and I got the chance to visit castles, explore the city, and step away from tennis.” Jordy Fee-Platt ’14 and Robbie Nooney ’14 dropped by campus this spring and visited with a few teachers, including Father Abidari. Reese Johnson ’15 and Fin Martin ’16 worked at Rothy’s China location during the summer of 2018. Rothy’s is a company that makes durable, high-quality, stylish, and comfortable shoes for women using low-waste, low-impact materials. The company was co-founded by Roth Martin ’87.

FACULTY VS. ALUMNI BASKETBALL GAME April 27, 2018

The Faculty and Alumni battled it out in Gresham in front of a full house of family, friends, and fans. After last year’s shocking loss, the Alumni took back with crown with a resounding 74-55 victory! Special congratulations to Joseph Weinstein ’16, who was named MVP.

The Birmingham Family (Rob, Cynthia, Alanna, and Jack ’14) hosted a wonderful gathering for the Class of 2014 and their families at the Whiskey Room. The soon-to-be collegians were able to reconnect before heading off to the next stage in their lives, and all who attended were excited to celebrate their achievements!

TOM OAKLEY ’92 VISIT March 28, 2018

Tom came to visit CSB with his mother and his children at the invitation of sixth and seventh-grade students who had written to him for their “Day of Service” in 2017. Tom was a featured speaker in chapel, had a short visit with the letter writers and visited both sections of Mr. Mundy’s eighth-grade history class. Tom is a JAG lawyer and is about to start a teaching position at West Point. (Read more on page 72.)

entire student body, either in-person or over video, to talk about their work and achievements and about their CSB experience. The previous award has been renamed the Cathedral School for Boys Impact Award, and will continue to be presented to any member of the CSB community—alumni, faculty, staff, parent, or otherwise—who has made a significant impact on the life of the school. Both award recipients will be celebrated at Alumni Day in the spring and will be recognized on plaques that will hang in the school’s entrance.

This year, the Alumni Association, as represented by the Alumni Advisory Council (AAC), has created a second annual award specifically for alumni. The Cathedral School for Boys Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented to an alumnus or alumni who embodies the values and leadership qualities of Cathedral School for Boys in their profes- sional career, entrepreneurial ventures, academic achievements, or civic contributions. Nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award can be submitted from anyone in the school community, and the winner will be chosen by the AAC. The winner will be invited to speak to the School’s
