The devil will let us go any length in talking about the death and the Cross of Christ be cause he knows that in these days there are many interpretations put upon those words that are not Scriptural. But oh! how he will fight you and me whenever we mention the blood of the crucified Saviour, for everybody knows what that means! If there is anything the devil hates, it is the blood of the Crucified One. Friends, I ask you today, is the blood precious to you? Can you say and mean it, that the blood is the precious blood of Jesus Christ as the Scripture speaks of it? Are you trusting in anything else for your salvation? My friend, if you are, you are trusting in vain. Nothing but the blood of the Crucified One re deems, cleanses, reconciles, and sancti fies. So I ask you a personal question just now: Where are you? I am not asking what you are. I am not concerned about that now; I am asking where are you? On which side of that Cross are you? Have . you. crossed over that great divide ? Are you on the other side ? Have you left that sphere that is Satanic, and are you now in Christ, in the Church, and in the Spirit ? Do you know that you have been redeemed and recon ciled and cleansed and sanctified be cause your faith and your trust is in nothing but the atoning blood of the Saviour ? And are you praising Him today for deliverance from the bondage of Satan and the fellowship of the world and the domination of the flesh? Do you know whether you have been born again in Christ, through the blood of the Saviour? Do you know where you are? Have you crossed that great di vide through faith in the atoning blood? THE FORCES BEHIND WAR [Continued from Page 86] and supple instrument they can have for taking the fate of the earth into their hands and working as artists upon man himself.” This significant quotation is contained in - .ietzsche’s The Will to Power, and clearly shows the goal of his philosophy when translated into action. Neitzsche based his idea of political dictatorship upon “scientific natural ism” ; he claimed that Nature, as re vealed by Darwin, sanctioned the right of the superior to rule through the pro cess of natural selection: “Nature separates from the rest, those individuals preponderating in intellectual power, those individuals excelling in muscular strength and temperament . . . The superior class—I call them the fewest—has as the perfect class the privileges of the fewest . . . these lords of the earth must now take the place of God.”
o t holiness, yet was willing to take into that precious, pure, holy life all of your sin and' mine with its stain and stench, until even the Father had to turn away from Him for a moment of time which was like an eternity to that Son who through all the eternity of the past had been in the bosom of His Father. We are so unutterably selfish, so ungrate ful, and so unfeeling in our attitude to ward this wonderful Saviour! The Great Divide We now come to this great divide— the Cross of Calvary. Let us think seriously upon thé issue involved here. That great divide, the Cross of Calvary, makes a clean-cut cleavage between those two spheres. It makes a boundary line between the kingdom of Satan and the kingdom of God. It calls Subjects out of one into the other. It provides for deliverance from all that pertains to the old sphere and the old creation. Because it has done that, it demands a complete separation on- your part and mine from everything that pertains to the bid' sphere and 'the old creation in Satam in the world, and in the flesh. The division demands a difference. But I go further. I am not speaking merely of the Cross or the death of the Cross, but I am speaking of thé blood of the Saviour, which is the very heart of the Cross. It is very easy' to put a cross as an ornament about one’s neck or to put it as a bookmark in one’s Bible, but it is a very different thing to let the blood of Christ have the right ful an’d preeminent place not only in Our faith, but also in our life and in our PRAYER CIRCLE Friends' who remember the Bible : Institute of Los Angeles in prayer will- be glad for the following items of praise received from the Secretary of Biota’s World-Wide ' Prayer Circle, Miss Christina J. Jan uary 18, at the age of 86 years, from her home in Pasadena, Calif. Many will praise God for the loyal intercession of members of this family,' and will pray for comfort for them in the days of their loneliness.
• Gaudens Megaro, in his Mussolini in the Making, traces the influence of Nietzsche upon the thinking of Mus solini. When still a young man, Mus solini acclaimed Nietzsche as the “most extraordinary mind of the last quarter of the last century.” Megaro records: "Mussolini saw in Nietzsche ‘the hater of the herd, the common run of men, the weak and the mediocre, who are incapable of “willing strongly” ; the pitiless critic of- de mocracy and equality; the champion of the right of the strong, “hard” men; the new species of "free spir its” fortified in war, solitude, and great danger; the creator of the . superman, the hero, possessed of an irresistible will to' power.’ ”” Mussolini’s most important article, “The Philosophy of Forcé,” was thé di rect outworking of his- acceptance of the Nietzschean philosophy. In 1924, Mussolini stated in .an interview that Nietzsche was the most outstanding and dominating influence he had encountered in his entire career. OUR DEFENSE AGAINST ALIEN IDEOLOGIES: . -; • The first line of defense, and the first line of attack, in America is in. the mental sphere. Our youth is being captured intellectually by . foreign isms. The seed of Darwinism sown in the minds of the young is certain to pro duce a harvest of Communism, Fascism, Nazism, revolution, and war. The teaching of evolution to youth is the most effective means for transforming our people into a totalitarianism. There is only one way to fight any malignancy. successfully, said that is to go to its root. Evolution is the root of Commuri- ist-Nazi-Fascist brutalitarianism. Either this vicious idea of animalism will be eliminated from its place of dominance in educational and intellectual circles, or it will produce among our people the ideology of a dictatorship which will come to complete dominion over our nation. The contest is not primarily between economic systems.' The contest is not primarily between forms of government —-it is between forms of thought. The issue is not,' in its ultimate form, be tween individualism and collectivism, • democracy and dictatorship. It is' be tween the Word of God and the lies of men. It is between a way and form of ■thought which recognizes God the Creator and a way and form of thought which does not. The issue is still whether Darwin is right or whether the Bible is right. Let American patriots know what their real enemy is, and then let them drive this ideological foe out of their schools, their colleges, and the hearts and minds of their youth.’
