Welding Program EDISON CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL
Students will learn modern industry welding techniques and equipment, including plasma cutting, oxyfuel cutting/welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, over two years. They will practice horizontal and vertical welds on basic joints, with pipe and tube welding introduced in the second year. Classroom topics will include career exploration, safety, design, print reading, welding theory, shop math, communication, organizational skills, and welder certifications. As students gain proficiency, they'll work on class projects and design a final project. CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION ENDORSEMENT Students who successfully complete all requirements of the Welding Program will earn a NYS Career & Technical Endorsement. 4+1 PATHWAY Meeting the program requirements entitles students to this alternative option for graduation.
