5139 - CAREER & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Credits: .5 or 1.0 Course Credit (Virtual Course 1.0 credit) ECO 103 MCC - Personal Money Mgmt.

This course provides students the opportunity to determine their personal interests and then research what careers they could potentially pursue based on these interests. Students also learn about financial management both on a personal and business level as well. This course is dual credit with MCC as long as the HS Teacher is dual credit credentialed and the student is taking the 1 credit HS course. Dual credit is not available when taken as a Virtual course.

9851 - BASIC COSMETOLOGY Credits: 2.0 Course Credit

Basic Cosmetology is the first course of a two-year program. This course provides a comprehensive foundation for aspiring cosmetologists, focusing on essential skills and knowledge required in the beauty industry. Topics covered are safety and health, hair styling, hair cutting and shaping, shampoo, rinses, conditioners and treatments, nail care and procedures and anatomy and physiology. This course is designed for beginners and those looking to build a career in cosmetology, providing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. By the end of the course, students will have obtained 500 hours of cosmetology education.

9853 - ADVANCED COSMETOLOGY Prerequisite: - 9851 - Basic Cosmetology Credits: 2.0 Course Credit

This comprehensive Advanced Cosmetology course is designed for aspiring professionals seeking to elevate their skills and knowledge in the beauty industry. Students will explore a variety of advanced techniques and practices, preparing them for successful careers in cosmetology. Topics covered are artificial nails, advanced hairstyling, chemical hair straightening, tinting and bleaching, salon management and ownership, hair extensions and wigs and retail service strategies. Students will be well-equipped to thrive in the ever-evolving beauty industry. Upon completion, students will have obtained another 500 hours of cosmetology education and students will be offered the chance to take the NYS Cosmetology Board examination.
