RCSD Career Pathways to Public Safety Program
The Career Pathways to Public Safety Program provides youth with a comprehensive, three year career plan in their chosen path in public safety. The program prepares youth with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to meet the high demand for diverse and local residency candidates in Firefighting, Emergency Medical Services, Law Enforcement or Emergency Communication.
CAREER PATHWAYS TO PUBLIC SAFETY (CPPS) PROGRAM CTE PROGRAM - 6 TOTAL CREDITS 10TH GRADE REQUIRED:
Intro to Public Safety
CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION ENDORSEMENT
11TH & 12TH GRADE CHOICE:
Students who successfully complete all requirements of the Career Pathways to Public Safety Program will earn a NYS Career & Technical Endorsement.
Fire Science Pathway
Emergency Medical Technician Pathway
4+1 PATHWAY Meeting the program requirements entitles students to this alternative option for graduation. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 6 credits of CTE Coursework • Career Portfolio
Law Enforcement Pathway
Emergency Communications Pathway
Each pathway includes 6 CTE elective credits and 1.5 physical education credits over the three years
