We’re Celebrating Our Marriage and More! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JULIA!

Life is full of twists, turns, and many uncertainties. While it can be intimidating to think about what life has in store for us in the future, I know one thing is certain: As I embark on this journey, I won’t have to do it alone. My incredible wife, Julia, will be there with me every step of the way. This month is very special for Julia and me — she will be celebrating her 6th anniversary working with me at the office, and we’re celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary! It’s mindblowing how time flies by so quickly! But I wouldn’t change a thing — the three decades of marriage and the years Julia has been at the office have been so enjoyable. As I reflect on our marriage, I’ve realized that she has inspired me to be a better man each day — and she does it without even knowing it! My utmost priority is to

past 33 years have been nothing but a blessing — I look forward to the next 33 years to come! We’ve gone through tons of milestones together. We’ve watched our beautiful daughter grow, seen the business turn into what it is today, and much more. One of my favorite milestones is when she began working with me at the office. Before becoming our client experience officer, Julia worked in several corporate positions. She mainly held these jobs so our family could have insurance. As an entrepreneur, I didn’t have the opportunity to get insurance through my line of work — and paying for coverage can become costly. Fortunately, the roles Julia fulfilled at her previous jobs allowed us to get insurance through the companies she worked for. But then, in 2017, we were looking for a change. Julia was overly stressed with her job and needed more flexibility

I’m so proud of her. I couldn’t think of a better person to manage the bulk of estate planning signings. She does a tremendous job, and I’m not the only one who sees it. Our team and clients see it as well! Many have asked me what living and working with my wife is like. And if I’m being honest, it’s been a great experience! I have a framework I follow regarding life and relationships: You either grow together or grow apart. Julia and I are growing alongside each other. We’ve always had a great time with one another, and it just keeps getting better as each year passes. Thank you, Julia, for being a vital part of the March to a Million, the 33 amazing years of marriage, the six incredible years at the firm, and everything you do for me, Sophie, and the clients. I couldn’t ask for a better person to live life with.

provide a better life for my wife, our daughter Sophie, and my clients. All my actions revolve around what would be best for you all, and seeing Julia’s presence each day is a constant reminder to remain grounded and continue to align myself with my vision. She ensures that I stay

to attend to life-related demands and school- related requirements for Sophie. Julia wanted to play a more active role with our daughter, so we decided she should work at DuPont & Blumenstiel.

on the right path and gives me another perspective on things I would have never considered.

Having Julia at the firm was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made — she’s the glue that holds everything together. Her warmth and grace are the firm’s secret weapon when delivering clients the best service possible.

While Julia may say she isn’t doing anything and that she’s simply being herself, these

worked for my father’s financial planning business, and that’s where I met Greg because he was my father’s attorney. In 2003, I started working with Greg directly, managing the title agency office he had at the time. Today, there is no “typical” day at the office for me. On any given day I could be handling HR duties, accounts payable, court documents and correspondence, and answering the phones. What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of my job is working with the clients. We have a lot of clients that do estate and financial planning with us. Some of them I’ve known for 15-plus years. It’s rewarding to know that we are continuing to help these people develop a secure future for themselves throughout their lives. What would you say to someone hesitant about creating an estate plan? To anyone who is thinking about estate planning, I would say just take the time and do it. It’s good to have something in place in case something happens to you. It’s important to lay out your plans and final wishes for your family. After going through my father’s death, I saw firsthand just how important estate planning is. He had all his documents already taken care of with Greg, so his passing was a lot less stressful for us. It was nice to know that we were doing things the way he wanted.

How long have you been working at the law firm, and what do you do here? I’ve been working at DuPont & Blumenstiel since 2014, but I’ve known and been working with Greg DuPont for much

longer. Straight out of college, I

What Is the Inflation Reduction Act? Save Money While Bettering the Environment!

• Biomass Stoves: When you get a new biomass stove, you’re eligible for a 30% credit on project costs up to $2,000. • Electric Panel: When you upgrade to a new panel, you can get 30% credit on project costs up to $600. However, if you want to receive these tax credits, any replacements must have the ENERGY STAR label to qualify. Furthermore, homeowners upgrading their existing homes are the only individuals who can earn this credit. New construction and rentals cannot use these tax credits. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipts for any replacements. When it’s time to file taxes, be sure to bring these documents with you so your credits can be applied to your report. Additionally, the tax credit is effective for products purchased and installed between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2032 . So be sure you’re taking advantage of these savings!

On Jan. 1, 2023, new tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act, otherwise known as the climate bill, became available to many U.S. households. The Inflation Reduction Act aims to help homeowners save money on energy expenses, transition to cleaner energy consumption, and help tackle climate change. This month, many homeowners may schedule their HVAC inspections or have their heating and cooling units examined, repaired, and even replaced! You could receive a huge tax break if you decide to replace some of your HVAC system and other items with these energy- efficient products. HEATING AND COOLING TAX CREDITS • Heat Pumps: If you get a new heat pump, you can qualify for a 30% credit on project costs up to $2,000. • Central Air Conditioners: You can receive a 30% credit for a total project cost of $600 for new AC units. • Insulation, Skylights, Windows, and Exterior Doors: Any replacement makes you eligible for a 30% tax credit with a $1,200 cap. • Gas and Oil Burners and Water Heaters: You can claim 30% of project costs, up to $600.

Don’t Remove Your Shoes REDUCE PRE-FLIGHT WAIT WITH TSA PRECHECK

When you arrive at the airport, you likely feel resigned to the hassle of waiting in a long security line and taking off your shoes. But did you know there’s an elite flight club full of people who don’t need to go through that routine? They have that privilege because TSA PreCheck has confirmed they aren’t a security threat. Best of all, the program is inexpensive and easy to join. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) began the TSA PreCheck program in 2013 to improve frequent flyers’ experience. TSA performs an enhanced security screening on applicants and issues those who pass muster a Known Traveler Number (KTN) that entitles them to fewer security checks at the airport. A TSA PreCheck registration, however, won’t let you waltz straight from the parking lot to your plane. Members must still walk

through a metal detector and allow the TSA to X-ray carry-on items. But people with TSA PreCheck can bypass the full body scan or pat down. They also keep their shoes and belts on while leaving laptops and appropriately sized liquids in their carry-on bags. Finally, PreCheck passengers have a designated security line where, in March 2021, TSA reported the average wait was only 5 minutes. The vast majority of airlines and airports operating in the U.S. accept TSA PreCheck, and you can apply with an online application. You must finish registration and submit fingerprints at an in-person enrollment center, but most appointments take about 10 minutes. Five years of enrollment costs $78. At that price, even those who only book one round-trip flight a year might decide to avoid the typical security hassle. Further, many credit cards will reimburse the cost.

TSA PreCheck isn’t the only method on the market. Nexus is another domestic security program, and Global Entry allows expedited processing through customs and immigration when returning to the U.S. on international flights. Which service best meets your needs depends on your travel habits. But if you fly regularly, these programs are almost certainly worth your time and money. Don’t get left behind — consider enrolling before your next trip!
