In order to maximize the broader impact for both people and planet, the island nation of Madagascar serves as the focal point for the on-the-ground activities of the Climate Positive Carbon Footprint Program .
Madagascar lays claim to the third highest rate of extreme poverty in the world: 70% of its people live off less than $2.15 a day. The program creates work and income for local villagers through tree planting and forest conservation but that's only the beginning of the benefits delivered!
