Provenance: -Collection of the sitter, thence by descent to his son. When he passed away, it was gifted to a friend, who is now the current owner. Hendricus Marinus Dijkman was a tax clerk in The Hague. He was the father of Hendricus Marinus Dijkman (1917-2010), a reserve lieutenant colonel in the artillery, who received several decorations for his service during and after the Second World War.
