Oh March ! I’m the Woman Once Shy and Quiet Now I Know

“Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is all a woman is fit for.” (Quote from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott) The Roman kept the names of their gods Greek, the month of March, named after the Roman god Mars, would maybe now be called Ares. William Shakespeare in his ‘Julius Caesar ‘featured a character of the soothsayer who told Caesar, ‘Beware the Ides of March.’ The month of March is to celebrate the empowerment of women, to disperse awareness amongst the women to know their power and rights of survival. There have been magnificent enlightenment of the women across the borders who created the history and lit their candles to fight against the darkness with the incessant hard work of making the world to acknowledge the feminism as not a fantasy but the reality which cannot be denied. ‘Mother Teresa of Pakistan’ late Dr. Ruth pfau , the victim of World War ll , when her younger brother died due to the deprivation of medical facilities, she wanted to be a doctor , later she committed to serve humanity as considering the work of God . She came to Pakistan and battled against Leprosy, a disfiguring and stigmatizing ailment of Leprosy. She initiated the campaign that leprosy is a mild contagious bacterial disease which can be cured; she joined the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Center in the slums of Karachi, and became the savior of lepers in Pakistan. Hanan al-Hroub, the Palestinian refugee and the world’s best teacher, like a fairytale, in March 2016 found herself in the headlines of the Guardian to the New York Times, she grew up in the refugee camp. As being declared the best teacher, she was awarded with the sum of $1 million, which helped her to set up a non profit organization to facilitate the teachers to seek initiative and creativity, to improve methodologies in teaching. The lady extended her empathy to care for cancer patients as well. Another north star is awe inspiring Bisque’s Bano Edhi, who as a professional nurse and philanthropist, has been working dedicatedly as serving for six decades to serve humanity. She has received the accolade of ‘Person of the Decade ‘from United Nations; the most impactful person of the first two decades of the 21st century. Her empathy and compassion have saved infinite number of unwanted infants by placing cradles in Edhi Centers which has met intense criticism from the extremism which accuses her as continuing a non – Muslim practice but such allegations couldn’t cease her devotion to serve humanity. The voice of the sufferers, the caged bird legacy, Maya Angelou , who is remembered as an American poet ,an author, educationist who raised her voice as a civil rights advocate , quite inspired by Martin Luther King. Her poem ‘ Still I Rise ‘ represents the indomitable passion of colored folks, being having the hard faith of the glorified triumph despite of intense adversities and racial discrimination. Rosalind Elsie Franklin, a British molecular biologist whose amazing contribution is to discover molecular structure of DNA; she is the founder of structural virology.
