ADVERTORIAL

India Employee termination in India is a more structured compliance process under the country’s new labour codes, which took effect in November. Employers must now treat termination as a multi-layered exercise involving legal review, payroll coordination, statutory compliance and documentation. Termination may arise through resignation, dismissal, retrenchment, retirement, or the expiry of a fixed-term contract. Compliance may also vary depending on establishment type and applicable central or state regulations. The four labour codes, Industrial Relations Code 2020, the Code on Social Security 2020 and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code 2020, govern wage settlement timelines, retrenchment rules, dispute processes including the Code on Wages 2019, the

and post-exit benefits such as gratuity, plus state-level Shops and Establishments Acts. India Briefing from Dezan Shira & Associates has guidance on regulatory frameworks governing employee termination, classification of termination types, notice, final settlement, statutory dues and more. Vietnam Vietnam has approved a new national plan to accelerate digital transformation among small and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs), outlined in Decision 433/QD-TTg for the period 2026 to 2030. The initiative aims to boost productivity, competitiveness, and integration into global value chains, aligning with the country’s broader goal of positioning SMEs as a driver of innovation-led growth. The plan emphasises increasing SME adoption

of digital platforms, e-commerce, and enterprise management systems, as well as wider use of e-contracts, digital signatures, and cloud-based solutions. Additionally, it seeks to expand SME participation in domestic and cross- border digital markets while strengthening collaboration between businesses, technology providers, and research institutions. Implementation will be supported through awareness and training programmes, expanded digital infrastructure, and financial measures such as subsidies, co-financing, and preferential credit to reduce adoption costs. Dezan Shira’s Vietnam Briefing gives further information on the national digital transformation plan, including its strategic pillars, sector-specific support, implementation framework, and support mechanisms for SMEs.
