2004
2004 - Global Media Outreach (GMO) begins as an Internet ministry for Campus Crusade for Christ International (Cru). 2005-2006 - John Beckett writes a discipleship course for new believers called “30 Day Next Steps,” which is still used today throughout our ministry in multiple languages. 2008 - Online Missionaries expand to 2,200 volunteers in multiple languages. 2010 - GMO begins Christian Growth Index (CGI) surveys to measure spiritual growth in our contacts. 2012 - GMO partners with the American Bible Society to help bring deeper Scripture engagement and spiritual content to new and prodigal believers while partnering with Christian Vision to produce short-form videos in Spanish and Russian.

2013
2013 - GMO launches the Next Steps App for discipleship.
2015 - The Cultural Intelligence Initiative is launched, training Online Missionaries to be better equipped to serve their disciples.
2018
2021 - GMO launches a new digital response system for Online Missionaries called PATH, which allows volunteers to respond to contacts from numerous online social channels across multiple languages. 2023 - Our Mission statement is updated to better communicate our discipleship initiatives: We leverage technology to invite all people to know Jesus Christ as Savior and grow in a personal relationship with Him.
