parts of the state. I started at the Alaska Miners Association in July 2007. Even though I’ve been a bookkeeper most of my life, I do have my own rock sto- ries, including two trips to Garnet ledge out of Wrangell and three days of gold panning. I have two grown boys and a daughter in law (and two granddogs) who live here in Alaska. I’m also very active in my church where I volunteer for children’s programs and oversee the mobile food pantry that is affiliated with the Anchorage Food Bank.

She came to AMA from the Resource Development Council, where for seven years she advocated for the mining and tourism industries. She worked ballot initiative campaigns promoted responsi- ble resource development. When she’s not representing Alaska’s miners, her and husband Mark split their time between youth hockey, their family home in Big Lake, and traveling. Their world revolves around kids and their two dogs, Hank and Mya.

Carin does not have a background in mining, but she is passionate about Alaska, making a difference, and learning more and more about how she can advocate for the min- ing industry. Carin’s whole family lives and works in Anchorage and spends most of her free time beating them in board games. Aside from that, Carin loves to play soccer, take photos, go to her cabin, and hang out with her dog, Cooper.

She came to AMA from Alaska Fron- tier Constructors, where she worked in both accounting and human resources. Jennifer spent two years working in Prudhoe Bay and values the importance of Alaska’s resources. Her and husband, Tony, have two boys, Lucas and Jace. They enjoy all Alaska has to offer in - cluding fishing, hiking and camping. JENNIFER LUITEN
