All courses are open to the pub- lic, registration required. SHORT COURSE 1 Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide (VMS) Deposits: Geology, Genesis, and Exploration Two-day course: Nov. 3-4 8 a.m.-5 p.m. This course will cover the geological classifi - cation of VMS deposits; grade-tonnage data; genetic model(s); tectonics, magmatism, and regional controls on mineralization; alteration, alteration geochemistry, and mineralogy; sourc- es of metals, fluids, and sulfur; sediment and hydrothermal sediment geochemistry and uti- lization for understanding ambient VMS envi- ronment and vectoring towards mineralization; practical aspects for reconstructing the strati- graphic, structural, and hydrothermal setting of VMS mineralization (e.g., graphic logging, map - ping, integration of real-time instrumentation); and critical metals in VMS deposits.

This short course will provide an overview us- ing drones for geospatial data collectio with a focus on mineral exploration and development. Course topics will include hardware (drones and sensor payloads), software (flight planning and data processing), the regulatory environment for drones and data, as well as practical field con - siderations. The course will include a 'how-to' work-through demo of a photogrammetry sam- ple project from data collection to processing.
