La chambre vise une croissance rapide
« Nous voulons doubler le nombre de membres », a indiqué le président, Michel Parent. Maintenant, 120 gens d’affaires sont membres de l’organisme, anciennement connu comme la Chambre de commerce ESTIC, pour Embrun, Saint-Isidore et Cassel- man.
Tandis que la chambre n’a pas agran- di son territoire pour comprendre tout Prescott-Russell, M. Parent explique que le nouveau nom reflète mieux le mandat de l’organisme. « L’ancien nom n’était pas inclusif », a fait remarquer M. Parent. La chambre bilingue dessert une région
qui comprend Saint-Isidore, Saint-Albert, Embrun, Russell, Limoges et Casselman. Dernièrement, le groupe avait innové en lançant une série de dîners avec les maires de Russell, La Nation et Casselman. Il y a deux autres chambres de commerce dans les Comtés unis – à Hawkesbury et Rockland. $800,000 for area businesses, groups HAWKESBURY | The Prescott-Russell Com- munity Development Corporation an- nounces the third phase of the Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP), offering $800,000 to area businesses and groups. The program is administered by FedDev Ontario and assistance will be provided lo- cally by the Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation (PRCDC). An initial sum of $1,049,600 was award- ed to 47 projects in the region of Prescott- Russell for the first and second phases of the program EODP. Several businesses and non-profit organizations have had the privi- lege to benefit from this funding to support economic development in the region. This contribution has enabled the cre- ation of many jobs, maintenance of many SME’s and strengthened the economy of the region. A total of 186 jobs were main- tained and 32 new permanent jobs have been created and more than 15 businesses expanded as well. This funding assists and supports busi- nesses, entrepreneurs and non-profit or- ganizations in our region in creating new businesses opportunities and contributes to the development of new businesses for the benefit of the communities of Prescott- Russell. Businesses, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations of Prescott-Russell may sub- mit an application form February 1 until March 1, 2013.
