Anchor Environmental Sustainability & Net Zero Carbon Strategy 2023 – 2026

Mitigating Climate Change Risk As climate change progresses, flooding, overheating, and extreme weather are becoming increasing concerns to our residents, as well as posing risks to both our homes and our supply chain’s business operations. Business continuity, costs and service and product availability through the interruption of our supply chains will be disrupted by climate change and the transition to a low carbon economy. Regularly identifying, planning for and mitigating risks where possible will support us in adapting to these changes through managed transition plans. We will establish a framework and practice within which we regularly assess those risks under different and developing climate scenarios and regularly appraise the options available for mitigating those risks and developing managed transition plans. Our strategic objectives are to: Objectives Understand the climate risks our residents’ homes face and the likely timeline for increasing risk Mitigate these risks to make homes safe, comfortable and energy efficient Design new developments to minimise exposure to climate risks such as flooding, and overheating Explore how existing and new supply chain relationships can support climate risk mitigation Understand the climate risks our business operations, colleagues and office locations may face Appraise options for mitigating and adapting to these risks Over the next three years we deliver this through: • Using the Task-Force on Climate Related Disclosures framework to underpin a holistic assessment of operational risks • Undertaking a SHIFT assessment to update our approach to flood, weather and overheating risks • Developing our approach to designing and delivering retrofits to existing properties that take into account overheating risks
