Anchor Environmental Sustainability & Net Zero Carbon Strategy 2023 – 2026

Existing Homes Whether in rented or home ownership, resident engagement with our work on sustainability will be key to success. We are developing data on fuel poverty amongst residents and will maintain this data linked with indices of multiple deprivation and IDAOPI (deprivation affecting older people and health deprivation). Understanding this need will then enable us to prioritise appropriately in our strategic asset management planning for retrofitting as well as working in partnership to ensure that residents receive the advice, guidance and financial support they need. We have developed a raft of support and as part of our response to the cost of living crisis and the package of services and support available to residents will continue to evolve. Our Be Me programme encompasses the changes that we’ll need to deliver within rented housing and extra care and this will tie in closely with the sustainability goals of living well. We will encourage sustainable transport options for colleagues, residents and visitors, for example cycling, improving access to public transport, electric vehicle charging points and consider opportunities for greening business mileage. We will support and encourage active travel, developing a sustainable transport strategy and action plan to support residents in maintaining active lifestyles and promoting sustainable transport options to residents. This will include supporting residents in switching to less polluting vehicles, including electric vehicles by installing electric vehicle charging points where appropriate.
