Anchor Environmental Sustainability & Net Zero Carbon Strategy 2023 – 2026
Supply Chain In order to achieve these goals, we will need to work with all of the organisations in our supply chain, providing goods and services to Anchor across our procurement, development, acquisition, the construction firms carrying out retrofitting works, repairs, gardening, cleaning, waste, food suppliers and many other services. Effective engagement in reducing carbon and environmental damage from our partners is essential in carrying out the joined-up work needed to reach our targets. We are already reaching out to our partners and building on our strong existing relationships across our supply chain. Communications & engagement Resident involvement, engagement and insights feed in across all tiers of our governance through a variety of forums, methods and channels as outlined on page 10 and page 11. • We will Invest in education, upskilling and effective engagement: • with our colleagues and our long-term supply chain relationships • and importantly, with residents, so they understand and buy into the journey and the changes to their homes in support of reducing carbon emissions. • We will co-produce action plans under each sustainability workstream with colleagues and residents. • We will establish a new Residents’ Sustainability sub-group of the Residents’ Council to form part of the permanent resident engagement structure. • We will continue to emded sustainability through every team and workstream through the work of the Sustainability Steering Group • We will explore developing standard training module on carbon literacy for all colleagues. • We will engage with colleagues’ representative bodies across Anchor to ensure that all voices are heard and issues of equality, diversity and inclusion in sustainability are considered.
