Anchor Environmental Sustainability & Net Zero Carbon Strategy 2023 – 2026
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Equality, diversity and inclusion are important cross-cutting themes for us. When it comes to a holistic approach to achieving the aims of this strategy, we will take into account the diversity of our residents and colleagues. The age and demographics of our residents means our approach to sustainability must be tailored to residents that have higher than average levels of disability and vulnerability. At the operational level, our colleagues receive Safeguarding and EDI training, and we collect and use data about resident vulnerabilities, disabilities and protected characteristics to ensure that we can deliver services in a respectful way that is tailored to needs and preferences. Risk Management We will manage risks to the implementation of this strategy in the following ways: • The approach to risk management that will support this strategy will be consistent with Anchor’s Risk Management Framework, which takes into consideration risks at both a strategic and operational perspective. • The specific risks to the successful delivery of the strategy will be captured and monitored by our Sustainability Steering Group to understand the scale of the risks, detail mitigating activities, and any implications / connectivity to Anchor’s existing risk profile. • Through the pre-existing network of Anchor Governance Groups and reporting, the visibility and progression of any risk topics that relate to the Environmental Sustainability and Net Zero Carbon Strategy will be ensured. The Risk Management function in the business will provide support to ongoing risk management relating to the strategy. It will also be noted that the development and delivery of the strategy corresponds to mitigating activities against risk themes that are monitored at both strategic and operational levels, and so the link between the strategy and risk management at Anchor will be clear and aligned.
