Copper Industries is proud to have supplied key hot water and heating system components for the AMIC project, working alongside contractor Stothers (M&E) on this landmark development. The company manufactured and supplied a 200L carbon-steel buffer vessel and 1,000L stainless-steel direct hot water cylinder. Both units were designed and produced to meet the specific requirements of the building’s mechanical services installation, supporting the delivery of an efficient and reliable heating and hot water system. The 1,000L stainless-steel direct hot water cylinder delivers potable hot water to all outlets in the building. It is connected directly to a plate heat exchanger and fitted with three 9kW immersion heaters

as duty standby. The immersions are adaptable for connection to a renewable energy source such as Solar PV in the future. The cylinder is designed for a working pressure of 6 Bar and encapsulated in a rigid polyurethane insulating membrane to minimise standing heat loss. The 200L Carbon Steel Buffer vessel was designed and installed for the same plantroom. It acts as a volumiser between the ASHP Hydro Kit and plate heat exchanger, maintaining the efficient running of the ASHP by accumulating a store of primary hot water for periods of high demand. Again, this is designed with a working pressure of 6 Bar and insulated using 100mm thermal fleece and a soft

removeable jacket. Cathal Shivers, Director, says, “The AMIC project is a great example of the quality and expertise available through local manufacturing. “We are proud to have designed and manufactured these cylinders and vessels, and it was a pleasure to work with Stothers (M&E) throughout the project. The collaborative approach of its highly- professional team helped ensure smooth delivery from start to finish.” “The AMIC project is a great example of the quality and expertise available through local manufacturing.”
