COMMERCIAL HEIFERS
We are excited to be offering this top set of replacement heifers. We have been raising Red Angus cattle for over 25 years, and these heifers are a product of many years of genomic testing. We cull our cow herd for disposition, reproduction, quality of udders and feet. Herd sires are selected with a balance of both maternal and paternal EPD’s. Good disposition, good feet and easy fleshing are a must when selecting these sires, and the heifers will reflect that. Heifers are cake broke. We start calving early February and wean the calves in Mid-September on a 42 MG Cal ration. We have either been out and looked at the heifers, or have fed them here at our ranch, and are confident that they meet the quality we can stand behind. Each producer has a little something different to offer, from more powerful types of heifers, to moderate framed low maintenance kinds, so there should be something for everyone. All of the females will be vet checked open and breedable prior to the sale and will be current on all vaccinations including their first round of Preg Guard. The Dry Creek Ranch, Bar Diamond Bar, and Johannas heifers are currently being fed here at Wasem Red Angus and the Tebelius and Dassinger heifers are at their respective ranches for viewing. Videos of the heifers will be available closer to sale time and can be seen on our website WasemRedanguscom and DVauctioncom. None of the heifers will be at the sale facility on sale day. We encourage interested buyers to make arrangements to view the heifers prior to sale day We would like the heifers to be picked up by the end of February as we will need the pen space for calving.
The heifers are developed on a 25-acre pasture close to home. They have been bangs vaccinated and have 840 USDA EID tags. They have also had their 1st pre- breeding shot of Bovishield Gold FP5 VL5. They have been confirmed open and sound for breeding and are ready to go to work in any environment. Sires of heifers include sons of Merlin, Brunswick, Hard Drive, Lookin Cool, Asset, Franchise and Relentless. The steer mates sold in Mid Nov 2024 averaging 855 pounds, these heifers will be averaging 850 pounds at time of delivery in Mid-March.
