Memory Seed , 2024 Archival pigment print Each 66 × 100 cm

Liron Kroll is a London-based artist working across photography, animation and immersive installation. Kroll has spent more than a decade pushing the boundaries of photographic practice by merging archival traditions with emerging technologies. Her practice examines how popular photography shapes both personal and collective identity, reconstructing emotional narratives that challenge conventional photographic realism.

Artwork Introduction

Memory Seed reimagines a childhood that was never fully documented. Liron Kroll uses a single photograph of her sister as a conceptual and algorithmic starting point, combining AI-generated imagery with photomontage and hand- painted digital details. The result is a carefully crafted composition blending emotional recall with visual invention. The image challenges the boundaries between realism and artifice, questioning what makes a memory feel emotionally authentic even when the visual record is entirely fabricated.
