Sonia Martin studied Fine Art at City & Guilds and Camberwell College of Art in London, and has exhibited paintings and prints in the United Kingdom and internationally, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the London Original Print Fair and Bankside Gallery. Recognition includes a Pollock-Krasner Award, a London Art Biennale Exhibition Award and nominations for the Contemporary British Painting Prize. Martin’s work explores dichotomies and boundaries between reality and imagination, the mundane and the extraordinary. Themes of searching and questioning recur, seeking to transcend assumptions embedded in everyday experience.
