Nigel Grimmer is a London-based artist whose practice reintroduces time, labour and materiality into photography. Using knitting, collage, pleating and tufting, Grimmer distorts digital images from social media and dating apps, exploring the tension between instant capture and slow craft. His work challenges conventional photographic practice, positioning itself as a critical apparatus to examine the medium’s evolving role in shaping experience and identity. The work forms part of Nigel Grimmer’s ongoing research. Grimmer disrupts contemporary photographic practice by applying traditional craft techniques such as knitting, collage, pleating and tufting. The work highlights the tension between instant digital capture and slower, tactile processes, combining methods that take one click with those that require hours of manual labour.
Nic Grimoldby is a London-based artist whose practice spans painting and sculpture. Using material processes that evoke decay and transformation, Grimoldby creates works that act as storytellers and guardians of memory. His practice explores identity, resilience, and renewal, inviting viewers to find beauty in ageing, poetry in imperfection and meaning in the shifting boundaries of the human condition. The Worshipper presents sculpture as both storyteller and guardian of forgotten moments, bearing the marks of time and carrying traces of past lives. By reframing adaptation and identity, Grimoldby challenges perception and provokes dialogue about the human condition. Rather than yielding to limitation, the practice redefines possibility through material presence and transformation.
Nicholas D’Angelo is a Newark-born artist whose practice explores action, speed and the dynamics of movement and thought. Working primarily with video, D’Angelo creates works that examine the fleeting and performative qualities of human experience. Through his exploration of motion and perception, D’Angelo seeks to capture moments of intensity that reflect both physical and psychological states. Nicholas D’Angelo’s practice is driven by action, speed of movement and thought, using ethereal imagery and blurred motion to form two-dimensional narratives. Over It illustrates the artist’s capitulation to life, capturing a moment of surrender distilled through gesture and atmosphere.
Nicoy Downes is a UK-based artist whose practice is rooted in oil painting, while also open to experimentation with other media. Drawing on experiences of life in the UK and a Caribbean heritage, Downes combines portraiture, unusual perspectives and deliberate colour choices to create works that invite personal interpretation. INSPIRATION reflects the experience of creative block, when energy and ideas feel depleted. Nicoy Downes channels this state into a painting that portrays recovery by visiting galleries—immersing in others’ practices, observing techniques and finding renewal in shared creativity. The work serves as an homage to the artistic community, celebrating inspiration as a collective force that sustains growth and imagination.
