artwithakirash Olaniyi Akindiya

Oliver Lee Shipton is a British-German sculptor based in London. Working with bronze through traditional casting, Shipton creates hybrid forms that fuse human and botanical anatomies, exploring growth, regeneration and identity. His practice operates between the digital and the material, developing three-dimensional sketches into mutant sculptures that embody ‘hybrid desire’ and fluid states of becoming. Anything You Want captures a suspended metamorphosis, a body caught between emergence and dissolution. Cast in mirror-polished bronze, its folds and flares allude at once to tendon, viscera and unfurling petals, merging human and botanical anatomies into a single organism where growth and regeneration intertwine. Masculine and feminine qualities coexist. Tensile volumes suggest shoulders or haunches, while concavities soften into petal-thin edges.

Olana Light is a UK-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans installation, sculpture and mixed media. Exploring themes of perception and transformation, Light creates works that invite reflection on the shifting boundaries of self and environment. Her practice has been developed through international exhibitions and residencies across Europe, where material experimentation and site-specific response remain central to her artistic inquiry. The Birch Tree Family is a living artwork that combines performance, film and installation, transforming the human body into birch tree sculptures to invite wonder and provoke reconnection with nature. The birch tree, a symbol of renewal and resilience, becomes both costume and companion as living sculptures traverse gardens, parks and city streets.

Olaniyi Akindiya is a Nigerian-born multidisciplinary artist living between Abeokuta and Texas. With a background in biochemistry and textile art, Akindiya works across painting, sculpture and installation, drawing on science, tradition and everyday materials. His practice reflects on cultural memory, transformation and the intersection of heritage and contemporary life, reimagining how personal and collective identities are shaped. Inhale & Exhale #1 reflects on encounters with individuals living on the streets. The work raises questions about how people arrive at such precarious conditions, whether by choice or circumstance, and what responsibilities exist to support them. Olaniyi Akindiya documented conversations with those experiencing homelessness, recording varied stories of survival, loss and hope.
