De son côté, le chef des pompiers Brian McBain a salué l’appui constant du Conseil municipal. « Le Conseil continue de démon- trer un soutien et un investissement solides envers notre Service des incendies et notre communauté en pleine croissance, ce dont nous sommes sincèrement reconnaissants. La technologie avancée de ce nouveau camion améliore la sécurité des pompiers tout en nous permettant de maintenir un haut niveau de service pour nos résidents. », a-t-il affirmé. Le nouveau camion pompe/sauvetage est désormais officiellement en service et prêt à intervenir lors de situations d’urgence partout sur le territoire de la municipalité. « Au nom de la Municipalité, je remercie tous nos pompiers pour leur professionna- lisme et leur service envers la communauté », a partagé le Maire Mike Tarnowski.

Le Service des incendies de la Municipalité de Russell a officiellement ajouté un nouveau camion pompe/sau- vetage à sa flotte, un investissement de 808 796 $ destiné à renforcer les capacités d’intervention d’urgence et à améliorer la sécurité des résidents comme des pompiers. Affecté à la caserne 12, le nouveau véhicule remplace deux camions vieillis- sants arrivés à la fin de leur durée de vie utile. EAGLES SOAR TO BACK-TO-BACK WINS WITH GRITTY WEEKEND PERFORMANCES

The Eagles showed composure in the final period. Patenaude, with the help of Hugo Gagne and Tyler Proulx, tied the game
on the power play at 5:38. Just under two minutes later, Corput, with the help of Patenaude and Vincent Bastien, struck again at even strength to give St-Isidore a 4–3 lead they would not relinquish. Corput finished the night with two goals, while Patenaude recorded a goal and two assists in a strong all-around performance. Two nights later, the Eagles carried that momentum home to the St. Isidore Arena, where they defeated the Morrisburg Lions 3–2 in another close contest. After a sco- reless first period, Patenaude, with the help of Proulx, opened the scoring short-handed
late in the second. Morrisburg responded quickly, but Patenaude, with the help of Justin Cloutier and Proulx, restored the Eagles’ lead before the end of the period with his second goal of the night. The Lions tied the game early in the third, setting the stage for a tense finish. The decisive moment came at 3:50 of the final period, when Duchesne, with the help of Nicolas Quesnel and Corput, scored on the power play. The Eagles will return to the ice on Friday, January 16, against the Kanata Kings at the Fred Barrett Arena at 8:45 p.m.

There was no score in the second period. However, Casselman took control in the third period with three unanswered goals. Embrun goaltender Jake Dignard faced heavy pressure, stopping 39 of 43 shots as the Panthers were outshot 43–28. The Panthers closed out the week Sun- day, January 11, with a high-tempo matchup against the Winchester Hawks, dropping a 6–4 decision. Embrun came out strong, receiving first-period goals from Garrett Maronese, with the help of Enrick Girard, before the Hawks scored their first goal. Wyatt Leblanc, with the help of Lariviere and Justin Raymond, and then the Hawks their second goal to keep pace in an evenly matched opening period. During the second period, the Hawks score the only goal. After Winchester took the lead early in the third period, Justin Raymond, with the help of Sébastien Labrèche and Alexis Methot, sparked a response with his second goal of the night. The Hawks score their fifth goal before Justin Raymond scored his team’s last goal. Despite the late push, an empty-net goal sealed the outcome in Winchester’s favour. The Panther’s next game will be on Friday, January 16, at the Earl Armstrong Arena at 7:20 p.m.

The Embrun Panthers faced a de- manding three-game schedule last week, testing their resilience against strong competition while continuing to show flashes of offensive depth and determination. The stretch began Thursday, January 8, with a 4–2 loss on the road against the Ottawa West Golden Knights. The Panthers found themselves trailing early after Ottawa West scored one goal in the first period added two more goals early in the second period, including one on the power play. However, Embrun responded quickly midway through the second period, with Justin Raymond, with the help of Tomy Lariviere, scoring to cut the deficit, followed just 27 seconds later by a goal from Alexis Methot, with the help of Yanick Blanchard and Xavier Boulanger, to bring the Panthers within one goal apart. Despite generating steady pressure, Embrun was unable to find the equalizer, and Ottawa West sealed the win with a third-period power-play goal. Goaltender Sébastien Bourgeau made 30 saves on 34 shots in the loss. On Friday, January 9, the Panthers retur- ned home for a rivalry matchup against the Casselman Vikings, falling 4–1 despite a competitive effort.
