Fruit After Many Months Mr. Ou-Yang, leader of Band No. 4 through the members of which that woman had been led to faith in Christ, and frojn whom she had received the New Testament that she So dearly loved, in writing about the last village m which they worked before the New Year holidays said: “ At Wu-Li-Ba where we have just finished work, nine entire families have turned to the Lord.” When we remember how missionaries have toiled on for years in many places without a single convert, our hearts are filled with praise as we see the readi ness of the people to listen, to investi gate and to believe in these present
“ Sing the Songs of Jesus” This was the last request of a woman who only a few weeks before had not even heard of Jesus, the Son of God, who had come to the earth and died to save all who would believe on Him. How happy the evangelists of Band No. 4 must be that God led them to that vil lage, and then opened the heart of that woman to listen to and believe the good news of One mighty to save. The missionary in whose field this touching incident occurred wrote me as follows: “ It is impossible in a few lines to give you an adequate idea of the rich results of the past year’s work in the district for which I am responsi ble. Five regular preaching centers have been opened, and in seven places where inquirers are more scattered, they are regularly visited at their homes by myself or an evangelist. I have just visited one of these churches where the influenza’’ has been raging. One of the members as she was dying held to her heart the New Testament given her by the Band, and in the other hand took
