I read them over at least twenty times, and they did me much good.” Strange to say, he had not been saved, but after having a little difficulty cleared up, tears came to his eyes, and he accepted Christ. We believed God sent him to that meet ing, just at that time as that was the only time the worker was on the street that month, preaching the Gospel. Doubts Swept Away On a British steamer, the case men tioned in the beginning of the article was found. He had believed once but could not do so any more, he said. A very sad case, but of course simply the effect of fail ure to realize the necessity of the New Birth. Also, having heard of the higher critic delusion, he was hiding behind that. He was impressed with the mes sage given him, but was pleading for time to settle this matter. Enough was given him to show him that he need not fear to trust God. Would not God show him that the Scripture was of Divine Origin, if by trusting Him for salvation and receiving the testimony of God concern ing His Son, he would make his peace with God? God spoke to this soul, sweeping away all difficulties, and he ac cepted Christ, taking with him a mes sage and promising to read and study the Testament which he took, after signing the decision in the back of the book.
