The Dellutri Difference This Year, We Take Our Business Model to Tampa

As we begin 2018, we plan to make the “Dellutri Difference” well-known to our new market in Tampa and, soon, in St. Petersburg. Although every business owner hopes to grow and expand their market and customer base, we knew that setting our sights on Tampa and St. Petersburg was a huge feat. We didn’t want to take the leap until we knew for absolute certain that we were ready — and we are. Here’s the thing: Because of our unique approach, not many attorneys do what we do. No matter how much we were going to expand throughout the years, we wanted to protect our consumers from the beginning of their cases all the way until the end. I like to use an alphabet metaphor when explaining our philosophy to new clients. Some lawyers only handle EFJ, while others handle LMNOP. But we handle A through Z. We don’t just think this is the kindest way to do business, we think it’s the only way. We have taken great steps to get where we are now, and it’s taken a long time, but we are aiming higher. Now that we’ve reached new heights, it’s only become easier to see how far we really want to go. We are committed to our clients and our communities, and we are dedicated to making life better for those individuals who follow us. Whatever we can give, we give. We are on a constant mission to serve and educate, and we are so proud of how far we’ve come. We are ready to tackle 2018 with you!

When I was considering opening the Dellutri Law Group, I knew even then that if I was going to do it, my entire goal would be to provide my clients with service they couldn’t find anywhere else. I wanted a place where my clients felt comfortable — a hub where

“We are on a constant mission to serve and educate, and we are so proud of how far we’ve come.”

they could get all their questions answered. Since the beginning of the Dellutri Law Group, my team and I have striven to create that unique consumer law practice. While the years have come and gone, and our practice and business models have evolved,

that aspect of our team has never wavered. With every passing year and each new case, we never lost sight of our original mission: put the clients first. Through that time, our clients have lead us to where we are now. Because of the needs of our local communities, we have come to specialize in personal injury and bankruptcy cases, which often go hand in hand.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year’s. We look forward to seeing you soon.

–Carmen Dellutri

Who’s to Blame

for Florida Accidents?

as it happens everywhere. Florida does receive its fair share of snowbirds and tourists, and yes, maybe they need to be a bit more cautious on our roads. But in all fairness, so do we. Everyone needs to slow down during tourist season and give everyone the benefit of the doubt when we are behind the wheel. Whether it’s a snowbird who is driving on U.S. 41 with their left blinker on and decides to make a right turn into a Publix or the Floridian who gets a bit of road rage from all of the traffic, anyone can cause an accident. It takes only a moment for something to go wrong. Your chances go up dramatically when a driver is either intoxicated or has a cell phone in their hands. Anyone can slip up. Hopefully you are all paying attention while driving, but if you do get into an accident, you should know that you are only human, whether or not you are from out of town. We help people injured in automobile accidents all day long, and I have to admit that we see our fair share of snowbird cases (I put them in blue folders just to see how many there are), but we also see our fair share of pure Floridian negligence. There were way too many deaths on our roads in 2017. I just wanted to set the record straight and ask that we all use just a little bit more caution during this busy snowbird season.

Here in the state of Florida, we tend to blame northerners for the vast majority of automobile accidents that occur. We like to affectionately call those northerners ‘snowbirds.’ While out-of- towners can be blamed for some accidents, it’s unjust to assume that all accidents are the fault of our northern friends — yes, friends.

Let’s keep in mind two important things:

The people that keep our economy going are those that flock to our sunny weather yearly, in addition to tourists that come to enjoy many things some of us might take for granted. So, we must accept the bad with the good.

Many accidents in Florida are caused by Florida residents. People just like you and me. People who live here. People like us who make mistakes. Sometimes we have to zip our lips about the snowbirds. To be fair, though, we aren’t the only people in the U.S. who blame tourists for accidents,

HERE’S WHAT OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY:

myself included. I am very grateful for their constant communication and follow-up during such a stressful time. Mr. Dellutri himself sat through my 341 meeting with me, and even spoke with me for quite some time after the meeting to answer any further questions or concerns ... not once checking his watch or phone. Thank you for all you have done for me and my family.” –W.H. VERIFY THIS TESTIMONIAL! ALL OF OUR TESTIMONIALS ARE VERIFIABLE ON OUR WEBSITE. WWW.DELLUTRILAWGROUP.COM/TESTIMONIALS

“I would never have guessed I’d find myself in need of a lawyer to file for bankruptcy. It has been, hands down, one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. As the collection notices began piling up — and the harassing calls from creditors — I had no choice. I began by searching Google reviews and found a ton of good reviews of this office — people posting these reviews of their success with Carmen Dellutri using their full names. I couldn’t help but to be embarrassed walking into the doors of Mr. Dellutri’s office. Everyone there clearly knew I had failed ... I had failed to fulfill my financial obligations. The process itself is not fun (a lot of paperwork, through no fault of this team, but what is required now by the federal government), but I was treated with kindness and respect the entire time. His entire staff knows the process inside and out, and is willing to help in any way they can. They made certain, numerous times after I had filed, that I was no longer receiving harassing phone calls. If you find yourself in this situation and you need a lawyer, Dellutri Law Group comes highly recommended by many clients,

Pistachio Goji Berry Granola

Want to spruce up your morning yogurt? Top it with this tasty granola. Even better, swap out the dairy for coconut yogurt and enjoy your vegan breakfast.

Kathy has been with the Dellutri Law Group for 13 years! She is a Florida-registered paralegal and works on civil litigation. She hasn’t always been a paralegal, though. In fact, it’s not even what she set out to do in her career. Kathy fell in love with legal work from her 11 years in the banking world. She was in charge of doing legal research at the bank, so she decided to go back to school to become a paralegal. Her key to staying in love with the profession is

Ingredients • 1 cup rolled oats • 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1/3 cup pistachios, chopped • 1/4 cup coconut flakes • 1 teaspoon cinnamon • 1/3 cup goji berries

• 1 tablespoon coconut oil • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

Directions 1. Heat a large skillet over low heat. Add oats in a thin layer and toast for 1–2 minutes. Add coconut oil and salt, then stir. Continue toasting for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally. 2. Add maple syrup 1 tablespoon at a time; stir to coat. 3. Once oats are toasted, add pistachios, coconut flakes, and cinnamon. Cook slowly until pistachios and coconut flakes are toasted but not burned, about 5 minutes. 4. Remove from pan and stir in goji berries. 5. Let cool and enjoy as a snack or on top of your yogurt!

knowing that multitasking is the name of the game, and keeping calm and organized is crucial. Kathy is not just all work and no play though, when she is not at the office, she is spending time with her family. She absolutely loves being with her two grandchildren and considers herself fortunate to see them every day. “Not many people can say they enjoy their job, but I can,” she says. “I look forward to going to work every day, and it’s hard to believe that it has been 13 years here. Time flies by when you’re having fun!”

YOUR READING LIST FOR 2018

OVERCOME A HARROWING YEAR Few have done more to earn the title of modern-day hero than Scott Kelly, who has served as a military fighter pilot, an engineer, an astronaut, and now, an author. “Endurance” is Kelly’s memoir, and it recounts the year he spent on the International Space Station. From sharing everyday space adventures to letting us in on the physical toll space takes on the body, Kelly helps us understand what it’s really like to be in the great unknown. If you’re looking for inspiration in the new year, reading about Kelly’s harrowing year of challenges will surely give you the courage to overcome your own. IF YOU LOVED THE ‘DIVERGENT’ SERIES Veronica Roth brings us a new sci-fi/fantasy series with “Carve the Mark.” Roth whisks us to a planet where each person has a “currentgift,” a special power they develop. But for heroes Cyra and Akos, currentgifts are more of a curse. The two must work to overcome their distinctly different pasts and unite to save their world — or die trying.

Can you believe 2017 is behind us? Elections, weather, and just about everything on the news left us feeling uncertain. We could all use a dose of optimism in the new year. Here are some books that celebrate the triumph of the human spirit, even in the most challenging situations. FINDING FORREST When an actor tries their hand at other creative mediums, the results are varied, but the buzz about Tom Hanks’ new book, “Uncommon Type,” has been largely positive. His literary debut is a collection of 17 short stories, all featuring, in some way, a typewriter. At their heart, though, the stories are about human relationships, and Hanks manages to inject his most memorable character’s charm into his writing. As NPR reviewer Heller McAlpin puts it, “In a world where the news is unrelentingly bleak and much fiction tends toward the dystopian, postapocalyptic, dark, or edgy, this is a gentler, sweeter kind of storytelling than we’ve come to expect.”

WHEN YOU NEED A HERO School is tough, and no one knows it better than George Heffley. In installment 12 of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series, titled “The Getaway,” Jeff Kinney takes us on a tropical vacation with the Heffleys as they attempt to escape the cold weather and frenzy of the holidays. But the island isn’t the relaxing sanctuary it’s supposed to be. The suggested reading age is 8–12 years old, but this book would make an excellent listen for the whole family during a road trip of your own.
