For “Defenders of the Faith” T. C. Horton “ A n d he brought
We wish every “Defender” could have the privilege of reading the let ters that come from every part of the world, telling of the results that come from faithful witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. One that is just before us now, from Michigan, orders a quantity of tracts and says: “ The se w i l l be dis tri bu ted a t the ou t d o o r m e e t i n g : which i s he ld a t 7 : 0 0 P. M . a n d t e ll History Shows Us: (1 ) The place of the Jew in God’s plan. (2) God’s covenant with them. (3) Necessity of fulfillment of prophecy. (4 ) Fulfilled prophecy as found in history. i l g E r a o l u r I am living in the era of the World’s crisis. I am living in the era of the Church’s crisis. I must face these solemn facts, and plan to make my life produce the largest possible fruitage for my Heavenly Father, through lip and life. S lfp rp fo r? I will, with unquestioned faith, give more time to the definite perusal of the Word of God. I will give more time to prayer for God’s blessing upon His work and workers. I will give more time to personal work for the salvation of lost so u ls., I will seek to live a more self-sac rificing life. I will seek to acquaint myself with the facts concerning the world’s needs and the needs of the true church. I will give more liberally to God’s work and with more definite knowledge of where and how my gifts are being used. I will stand, by God’s grace, with unquestioned confidence in the whole Word of God, and with the unsheathed Sword of the Spirit, contend for the faith once for all delivered, against all deceivers in school ■ and church. (Every “Defender of the Faith” receives a copy of this “Resolve” to be signed and kept before them, as a reminder and an inspiration for service.)
Let no member of The King’s Busi ness Family say conditions are such that he or she cannot be a real “Defender of the Faith” after reading Mrs. L.’s letter. Read it and then read it again, and get the vision of this mother, handicapped by deafness, going from house to house with the Gospel message, taking her children with her! Then lift up your heart in thanksgiving for her faithful service, and pray that it may have rich fruit age. If you h a v e. not already been en rolled as a member of this splendid army of “Defenders,” turn to page 457, sign the coupon, send it in, and “ammunition” will be promptly sent to you. LESSON SIXTEEN A Few Brief Suggestions for Dealing . with Jews To deal successfully with the Jews we must have: I. A Clear and Intelligent Under standing of our Obligation to the Jew, and to His Place in God’s Plan: (1 ) God’s promises in the Old Testament are all related to the Jews. His covenant was with Abraham (Gen. 12:1-3):
“ N o w th e L o r d h a d s a id un to A b r a m , G e t the e ou t o f th y c o u n tr y , a n d fr o m t h y k i n d r e d , a n d fr o m t h y fa th e r ’s h o u s e, u nt o a l a n d t h a t I w i l l she w th ee: “ A n d I w i l l mak e o f the e a g r e a t n a tion , a n d 1 w i l l b le ss thee, a n d m ak e th y n a m e gr e at ; a n d th ou s ha lt b e a bl e ss ing: “ A n d I w i l l bles s th em t ha t ble ss th ee, a n d curse h im t h a t curse th thee: a n d in t h e e sh a ll a l l fa m il ie s o f the earth b e blessed.’ ’
