Saltwater Fishing
The Kenai Peninsula offers extraordinary saltwater fishing opportunities in both the Cook Inlet and Prince William Sound.
Cook Inlet The Cook Inlet is home to a variety of saltwater game species including halibut, lingcod, rockfish, and salmon. From Alaska Fish On Charters, just a short 45 minute drive to Ninilchick or 90 minute drive to Homer puts anglers in some of the most accessible and predictable saltwater fishing in Alaska. The 200 mile long and 35 mile wide Cook Inlet holds one of the world’s healthiest and most productive halibut fisheries and offers spectacular views of the volcanoes Redoubt, Iliamna, and Augustine. In addition to fishing, these trips often include sightings of whales, otters, and other Alaskan marine life.
The Cook Inlet has two halibut limit per angler daily limit for charter vessels. This is especially appealing for those looking to fill their freezers as the majority of the halibut fisheries in Alaska only allow one halibut to be retained per day. This is a testament to how fantastic of a fishery the Cook Inlet has been and continues to be.
