The History of Echo Valley

From humble beginnings to a haven for disc golfers:

In the early 2000s, Echo Valley started down a long gravel road and a rental. Disc golfer Daniel Gompf #4435 stumbled upon a quiet property near a cemetery on State Route 48. It was there that he met Bill Hoffmann and shared his interest in disc golf. Bill, enthusiastic about the idea, allowed Dan to partner with Tony "H2O" Waterfall in to make Echo Valley a reality if only for a few times a year.

For years, access to the course was limited only available with H2O’s baskets, making tee times a coveted treasure. The dream of playing Echo Valley whenever golfers desired was constant.

Local legend suggests Bill secured the land's transfer to Clearcreek Township on the condition of a permanent disc golf course. Regardless of its truth, the sentiment reflects Bill's appreciation for the sport. He loved when we would come out to play, even lending equipment to clear fairways, his enjoyment of the disc golf community was awesome.
