A word from Karel Verstraeten

As we close out 2024, I'm proud to reflect on the strides we've made together this year. It has been a year of agility, innovation, and connection, as we continued to deliver solutions that Make Agility Count across South and Sub-Saharan Africa. This newsletter is packed with stories that capture the essence of our journey this year. We kicked off 2024 with a bold strategy, focusing on enhancing our offerings in air, power, flow, and temperature. These priorities have driven impactful projects, including providing rental power solutions to South Africa's wine producers during their peak harvesting season. This partnership ensured a testament to our ability to keep industries moving forward. You'll also read about how we responded to critical emergencies, including a significant shutdown, where we delivered 26,000 cfm with 25 compressors in just four days. This project was just one of many where our team demonstrated speed, reliability, and unwavering dedication to our customers. 2024 also brought exciting new developments to our fleet, including 8-ton steam boilers and chillers, reflecting our commitment to meeting evolving customer needs. On the African front, our collaboration with Atlas Copco Specialty Rental Africa and the acquisition of Integrated Pump Rental (IPR) have expanded our footprint, unlocked new markets, and strengthened our rental solutions portfolio. This was proudly highlighted at Electra Mining 2024, where we shared a stand with IPR and connected directly with customers, showcasing our combined expertise.

As we step into 2025, Rand Air remains operational 24/7, ready to meet your needs with agility and reliability.

Thank you for your trust and partnership. Enjoy this reflection on a remarkable year, and here's to a future of growth and shared success!

Warm regards, Karel Verstraeten General Manager, Rand Air

Making agility count with four essential rental utilities for our customers in South and Sub-Saharan Africa

Rental air solutions, i.e. portable compressors, have been the cornerstone of our offerings for traditional industrial applications since our founding in 1973. Over the years, our power solutions have evolved significantly. In addition to oil-free and low-emission compressors, we now offer cutting-edge products like the innovative QAC 1100 TwinPower, which houses two fully loaded QAC 500 kVA generators side by side in a single custom 20-foot container. fully integrate hybrid power solutions solar energy and battery storage systems with gensets, reinforcing our environmental- responsibility narrative. These systems can be grid-connected, offering maximum flexibility and cost efficiency while helping customers meet their ESG commitments by reducing the need for significant investment in capital equipment for transformation. Additionally, we can replace diesel-driven power sources with hybrid units or provide comprehensive hybrid solutions that enhance the environmental sustainability of on- site projects. Our mobile Rand Air's flow portfolio comprises a wide range of pumps tailored for emergency and seasonal dewatering applications. Atlas Copco Group's two recent acquisitions, Australian company, Sykes Group (Q4 2023) and Integrated Pump Rental (Q3 2024) (read more about this acquisition on page X), have significantly extended our flow rental fleet and unlocked new markets, underscoring our commitment to building a comprehensive rental pump fleet that meets diverse flow requirements.

Our latest offering, , include temperature solutions steam boiler and chiller rental services. With our current fleet of two 3.0 t and two 8.0 t packaged dual fuel (gas and diesel) boilers, we can meet any application requiring additional process steam during emergencies, breakdowns, or turnarounds, making it as easy to rent as a generator. , which feature a cooling chiller units capacity of up to 550 kW, we are ready to meet expected seasonal increases in demand for cooling in plants such as food and beverage, driven primarily by climate change. “With plants' installed capacities struggling to cope with higher peak ambient temperatures, renting additional capacity when needed rather than investing in capacity that will be redundant for several months of the year, makes sound business sense. With our

Rand Air has established a strong presence in the industrial equipment rental market, offering a comprehensive suite of solutions, including compressors, generators, pumps, containerised boilers and chillers. Rand Air's mobile rental power solutions keeping South Africa's wine industry flowing

As key exporters, South Africa's wine producers cannot afford any downtime, as it can result in significant product losses with associated negative financial impact. During the peak harvesting season from January to April, it is essential for these producers to enhance their energy capacity to ensure that production and packaging lines operate efficiently. Load shedding can disrupt generator operations, including backup units, making it challenging to meet energy demands. To address these challenges, several producers have turned to Rand Air for rental solutions, particularly during their critical production periods. Rand Air's solution: The supply of containerised TwinPower QAC 1100 units to three leading Western Cape wine farms.

For nearly a decade, Rand Air has been a trusted rental partner, delivering mobile power solutions to some of South Aica’s top wine producers in the Western Cape.

When the mine's air compressor, essential for powering pneumatic equipment underground, broke down, they contacted Rand Air for an urgent solution that required 12 000cfm (cubic feet per minute) to keep their operation going. Understanding that every hour of downtime incurs significant losses for the mine, the skilled Rand Air team allocated sixteen high-pressure oil-injected diesel compressors of various sizes for the project. After inspection by the service team, the units were transported to the site and connected to the mine's main air supply line by a Rand Air service technician. Remarkably, the units were fully operational within just 24 hours! Considering that the air has to travel a great distance from the surface to reach the underground equipment, it is essential that the compressors are correctly specced to eliminate potential pressure drops and loss in air flow. The Rand Air team subsequently provided a combination of 800cfm, 1 000cfm and 1 200cfm machines to meet these requirements. Four days later, the mine suffered yet another breakdown and requested a further 14 000 cfm of compressed air in order to maintain production. Rand Air once again lived up to its reputation as a reliable rental partner, delivering nine brand new PTS916 1600 cfm air compressors from a recently received consignment to the mine and made them operational within a 24-hour turnaround.

Rand Air leads the emergency hire charge with the supply of 25 air compressors and 26 000 cfm within 4 days.

Assisting a long-standing customer and leading platinum mine in Rustenburg by supplying critical air to keep underground operations going, exemplifies how Rand Air has cornered Southern Aica's emergency hire solutions market.

Meet our two new powerful 8-ton steam boiler goliaths!

Second, with steam being an essential utility for nearly every industry, we are bridging a rental need gap in this sector. The demand is evident, as the two units were quickly deployed to various projects shortly after their arrival. Our latest additions include two 8-ton German- manufactured units, each comprising a boiler, feedwater tank, and all necessary filtration and water treatment systems, neatly housed within a standard 20-foot container. These units feature low emissions, fuel efficiency, European CE compliance, and the capability to operate unmanned for up to 72 hours. With a delivery capacity of 7,800 kg/h of steam at 14.5 barg, they are equipped with cutting-edge technology, representing the pinnacle of packaged boilers. To meet the complex requirements of steam boiler applications, Rand Air collaborates with local partners to streamline the installation and commissioning process. Customers can choose from flexible short-term, medium-term, and outsourced steam plant rental options. Additionally, our temperature offering also now includes recently added chiller units, further aligning with our goal of providing comprehensive end-to-end solutions for our customers.

Just over a year ago, Rand Air made a strategic decision to invest in two 3-ton steam boilers, addressing two key objectives: First, these steam boilers are integral to our new temperature offering, marking our fourth rental utility service alongside air (compressors), power (generators), and flow (pumps).
