With her own deep love and knowledge of horses, the Chairman was the ideal spokesperson. • Insisting that the history of VRC and Flemington is appreciated, and is the basis on which plans are made. • Steering the VRC team through the unprecedented challenges of keeping racing at Flemington vibrant and healthy throughout the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. Now under the rules of the Club it is time for Amanda Elliott to step down as Chairman and from the Board. “The Amanda Elliott” is our collective way of saying Thank You from the VRC Board, Members and the entire racing community. On behalf of the Board, Vice Chairman, Michael Ramsden said “It is appropriate to name The Amanda Elliott after the Chairman on the closing day of 2020 Cup Week. The Board wished to acknowledge Amanda’s passion, dedication, professionalism, enthusiasm and vision which have been integral to the VRC we see today. The journey she embarked on 18½ years ago, has seen our Club go from strength to strength and the legacy Amanda leaves will be recorded as a page-turning chapter in our proud history.”
