E mbry-Riddle Aeronautical University is committed to innovating the future of the $7.6 billion aviation and aerospace industry in the State of Florida and creating an unmatched student experience. The Hybrid-Electric Propulsion Test Cell will help lead the university’s efforts to supply talent for industry and provide real-world solutions to the most pressing challenges facing the industry today. As a key component of our commitment to testing and developing innovative technologies, the Hybrid-Electric Propulsion Test Cell will provide a talent pool for Florida’s economy. Hybrid Electric propulsion has recently become an intense area of exploration within the aerospace and aviation industries. Capitalizing on that growing effort, Embry-Riddle faculty and the Eagle Flight Research Center have established a Hybrid-Electric Research Consortium comprised of a Who’s Who of industry partners. When funded and operational, the Hybrid Electric Propulsion Test Cell will be an economic multiplier for the University and region. Initial research has already generated interest from several leading global companies, including the Boeing Company, Airbus, GE Aviation, Rolls-Royce, Pratt-Whitney, and others. The Test Cell will be home to cutting-edge research opportunities for Embry-Riddle students, while also attracting industry investments and providing a steady and consistent talent pipeline for Florida’s growing aerospace industry.
