Embry-Riddle draws on cybersecurity principles, safety, certification and assurance experience to educate aviation professionals. We are one of five U.S. universities to earn National Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security certification with a special designation in secure software development.

Our Center for Cybersecurity and Assured Systems Engineering coordinates research on cybersecurity engineering across the university, contributing to product development in collaboration with industry. Our engineers develop cybersecurity solutions to support the evolution of NextGen, airport and flight operations; avionics; and unmanned aircraft systems and cube satellites. Faculty members contribute to standards, policy and best practices such as EUROCAE ED-203A / RTCA DO-356A and ICAO TFSG. We have also developed and administered A-ISAC aviation cybersecurity CTF for training of analysts.
