One IT giant. One global educator. Together, we are creating thousands of high-paying careers for veterans. Microsoft and Embry-Riddle launched their MSSA partnership in 2015. The 18-week program is open to military service members within six months of separation. Honorably discharged veterans who recently transitioned to civilian life are also eligible. Veterans earn 15 credits toward an associates or bachelor’s degree in technical management. They are prepared to go to work as server and cloud administrators, cloud applications developers or cybersecurity administrators.

From Marines to Microsoft Employees “I was able to speak directly to a hiring manager. This academy takes us way ahead of the pack.” - Joshua Ladd, Gunnery Sgt. After 20 years in the Corps, Gunnery Sgt. Joshua Ladd made the transition from Marine to Microsoft employee. The 18-week MSSA program prepared him for his six- figure salary and a career path in IT. “The purpose of the MSSA program isn’t to get veterans jobs. It is to get them rewarding careers.” - Joe Scanlan, Premier Field Engineer, Microsoft Joe Scanlan left for Marine boot camp the day after his 18th birthday. At 23, he was ending his service as a platoon sergeant. Unlike many veterans, he knew where he was going next: Microsoft. Scanlan is pursuing a degree in technical management from Embry-Riddle. He plans to advance his IT career by working on artificial intelligence or cloud computing.
