Cybersecurity Training Embry-Riddle is one of only five universities to earn National Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security Certification with Special Designation in Secure Software Development. The University’s Center for Cybersecurity and Associated Systems Engineering has developed cybersecurity solutions to support the evolution of NextGen, Airport and Flight Operations, Avionics and unmanned Aircraft Systems and Cubic Satellites. The Embry-Riddle portfolio of Aviation cybersecurity projects include: /// Blockchain based cybersecurity solutions for aviation /// Threat modeling and mitigation for avionics and systems /// Cyber resilience analysis of components and interdependencies /// Rapid certification of software updates and aircraft certification support /// Onboard expert systems to aid pilots in emergency decision-making /// Cybersecurity risk management for trajectory-based operations Preparing Veterans for Aerospace and Information Technology Careers In collaboration with Microsoft Software and Systems Academy, Embry-Riddle established an 18-week program in 2015 in which veterans earn college credit and are prepared to go to work as server and cloud administrators, cloud applications developers or cybersecurity administrators. Graduates interview with Microsoft or with representatives from 400 hiring partners, including Amazon, Oracle, Dell and Expedia. For the 80% of the students who enter the program without a degree, this triples their earning potential. Embry-Riddle has also partnered with the Department of Defense in the Skillbridge initiative which assists veterans’ transition to civilian careers in aviation maintenance.
