o VICON Motion Capture System  The VICON Motion Capture system provides 12 cameras to track and represent in-motion objects with a high degree of fidelity. The Indoor UAS Testing Facility provides substantial footprint and technology for use in GNC development and testing for autonomous flight and ground vehicles, UAV formation flight, UAV sense and avoid in complex environments, and cooperation between multiple autonomous agents. The MicaPlex houses ten unique engineering research facilities: o Thermal Laboratory  Description: The Thermal Laboratory provides ERAU researchers, faculty, and students, as well as industry collaborators, with resources and facilities supporting experimental research in energy harvesting, storage, and applications, as well as the development of thermal management technologies for propulsion and electronics devices.  Core Equipment • FLIR T650SC Infrared Thermal Imaging Camera • Turbine Cascade Flow Rig with separate, low temperature coolant supply (Constructed in-lab, estimated time of completion January 2019) • Mettler Toledo DSC 3 • Temperature/Pressure sensitive paint measurement system • Internal cooling passage flow bench; up to +/- 3.5psi available pressure head, or 600cfm maximum flow rate • Steady and unsteady flow instrumentation (Pressures, Temperatures, velocities) with manual and automated traverse. o Advanced Dynamics & Control Laboratory (ADCL)  Description: The Advanced Dynamics and Control Laboratory (ADCL) supports research activities aimed at advancing aviation and space technologies through the development of concepts, algorithms, and demonstration of solutions for: • Design of advanced intelligent and reliable flight control focusing on increasing safety such as fault tolerant flight control systems; • Application of robotic technologies for future space missions, such as servicing of existing and future observatory class scientific satellites; • Capability assessment of existing technologies in performing complex tasks through, various robotic tools, simulation, and operational techniques; application of computer machine vision and other sensor based solutions for autonomous operations.  Core Equipment • DENSO VP-Series 6-Axis articulated robot • Partial-gravity crane and cube testbed • This laboratory provides direct access to the VICON Motion Capture System o Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory (RASL)  Description: The Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory (RASL) provides dedicated workspaces for large unmanned system development and state-of-the-art sensors designed for integration on existing large-scale platforms for air, ground, and maritime domains. The laboratory is designed to accommodate for the needs of sense and avoid, swarms of cooperative autonomous and/or unmanned vehicles, and control scheme development for large platforms.
