Enclosed in this Guide is all the detail you will need for planning your 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival. The hardest decision will be where to go and what to do for each of the days during Cup Week. Planning to scan in and make your own magic? Keep a look out for the No Booking Required symbol throughout - from traditional favourites to brand new experiences for young and old, there are so many fabulous options available, all you have to do is scan in to the members enclosure using your membership card and join the party. This year, that includes all the retail spaces in both The Club Stand and The Grandstand, plus the general access areas in The Birdcage, The Nursery, The Rails Promenade, and the Birdbath Bar. If ensuring your favourite spot is there, ready and waiting, then a ticket to dining in one of your favourite venues or trying the exclusive member dining offering in The Birdcage might be just the thing. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MEMBERS CARNIVAL ON-SALE In 2023, entry into the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the Members Enclosures is easy, all you need to do is scan your VRC Membership card. There are many Cup Week experiences that do not require paid bookings. There will be an on-sale date for each of the four race days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, with the on-sale for Members Dining, Car Parks and Members Enclosure Daily Guest Tickets staggered throughout each of these days. For everything you need to know about Restricted Member access for the 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival please refer to page 12.

All tickets for Members Dining, Car Parks, Members Enclosure Daily Guest Tickets, and Reserved Seating are available for purchase via Ticketmaster.

All members must be financial for the 2023/24 racing season to access Melbourne Cup Carnival tickets. If you are yet to renew for the 2023/24 season, please visit vrc.com.au to renew online or call Membership Services on 1300 727 575. For Members Dining, Car Parks, Members Enclosure Daily Guest Tickets, and Reserved Seating, the following is required at time of purchase: • A MyTicketmaster account: create one at ticketmaster.com.au if you don’t already have one, otherwise login and ensure your details are up to date including your credit card • A valid credit or debit card • The barcode number on the back of your VRC Membership card • REMINDER: If securing tickets for Members Dining or Reserved Seating as a group, nominate one member to book on behalf of the group and please have ready the barcode numbers of any membership or annual guest cards you intend to use

There’s no need to book to enjoy a day in The Atrium Trackside. Revellers can look forward to relaxed choices featuring simple snacks and ice-cold beverages as they take in the races from a unreserved seat just outside. Trackside snacks are on hand to keep you from going hungry as you power through the day. Look out for race day favourites like ready-to-go sandwiches and roast carvery rolls, fresh sushi and salads, cheese plates, cakes, coffee, and tea. Gluten free options are also available. When you’re ready for a refreshing beverage, the Trackside Bar is there to serve up your favourite drinks. Give your feet a rest at one of the high-top tables or make your way to seating outside.

On offer in the bright and airy Atrium is the quintessential Melbourne Cup Carnival experience, with two dining options to choose from, The Atrium Flat and The Atrium Tiered. The focus shifts between the racing, dining, and wonderful hospitality as Crown's Executive Chef - Events, Josh Pelham brings his contemporary approach to dining with the very best seasonal produce on offer. New in 2023 is a specially curated three-course dining and beverage package, plus afternoon tea, for members and their guests. Whether you choose to dine on The Atrium Flat or The Atrium Tiered section, you will enjoy access to the unreserved external seating decks as part of your ticket, you can stay indoors and watch racing or venture outside for a hit of live action and atmosphere.

Be there when The View is transformed into a veritable foodie’s paradise. Fancy the spice and flavours of Mexico? Grab a soft-shell taco from the Taco Canteen. Or have a go at the contemporary flavours on offer from the Merrywell Burger Bar. Feel like something simple and easy, select from an abundance of freshly made sandwiches, sushi, and salads. Tea and coffee are also available. Whatever your appetite is after, you will find it in The View. Along with an enhanced, food-emporium dining experience, you will also enjoy Bart’s Bar for drinks throughout the day, and high-top tables and seats abundant throughout the room.

Enjoy a reserved table for the day and the flexibility to come and go as you please. Your Peak ticket will include a $20 food and beverage voucher for use at retail food and bar outlets offering a selection of refreshments including roast carvery rolls, pies, fresh sandwiches and cakes, coffee and tea, plus refreshing beverages from the bar. There is even an interior seating deck with birdseye views over the action and the Winning Post. As always, there are plenty of seats across the course to choose from to ensure a comfortable racegoing experience, all day long. Whether you choose to reserve a seat beforehand, or pick your perfect spot after you arrive from the many unreserved seats on offer, great race viewing is the order of the day.

MEMBERS UNRESERVED SEATING Unreserved seating is readily available across the Flemington grounds for members. Great options include prime-position members seating in The Grandstand, with outdoor viewing available in The Atrium and The Forum on Level 2, and indoor viewing from Level 4 in The View.

The Club Stand also offers great unreserved seating on its many decks.

Wherever you choose to sit, rest assured all the facilities you expect are within arm’s reach: coffee, tea, casual food outlets, refreshing drinks from friendly bars, and more than enough betting facilities to enhance every race day.

Reserve a grandstand-style seat for any Carnival race day and enjoy an uninterrupted view of all the day's racing. All the options provide great value for an entire day’s seating. Life members can book complimentary reserved seating allocated on Level 2 in The Atrium or Level 4 in The View. Members 60 years of age or over, will be given a priority period to purchase members reserved seating via Ticketmaster from 10am Monday 4 September. Wherever you take your seat, you will enjoy easy access to all the facilities you expect: coffee, tea, casual food outlets, refreshing drinks from friendly bars, and more than enough betting facilities to enhance every race day. Please note: Once a member barcode is used to book a Reserved Seat on a particular day, this barcode cannot be used to book another space (Dining or Car Park site, for example) for the same day.

One of the many privileges of being a VRC Member is that you get to see a side of Flemington during Cup Week that few get to experience. The much-loved Members Enclosure Car Parks, including The Birdcage, have hosted thousands of avid racegoers and joyous celebrations over the years. 2023 is set to get even better. VRC Members can again invite guests to enjoy full access into The Birdcage with a Daily Guest Ticket, or The Rails Promenade or The Nursery with a Pedestrian Pass. Members and guests can now spend an entire day strolling around The Birdcage, enjoying the many beautiful promenades and features that have been created. The car parks will swell this year with good-time vibes. Choose a site in The Nursery where you can design your very own party in a car park or The Rails Promenade , which comes fully furnished and all you need to do is BYO food and drink. However you choose to celebrate, 2023 is the year to experience the magic of the Members Enclosure Car Parks for yourself - and your guests! Please be advised that The Domain will not be available during the 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

This year’s theme is that of “Unbridled” – a nod to the daring, the adventurous, and a futurist landscape for members and guests. The layout provides connections via promenades of the unexpected. Members’ direct access into The Birdcage offers the chance to just wander through and soak up the atmosphere or find your place in one of the many unreserved settings to take in the magic. There is also a central retail food and bar outlet to keep you energised throughout the day. With easy access to trackside views, superscreens and betting facilities, you won’t miss a minute of the racing action on the track. And if that's not enough, members can share the experience with friends and family by simply purchasing a Daily Guest Ticket.

Curtis and his team have worked with the VRC to carefully curate the dining, grazing, decor and more to set the standard for a memorable Cup Week celebration. The elevated venue will leave you enchanted by Gwen’s signature hues of chocolate, navy, and pale-green – a sumptuous backdrop matched only by the food itself. A magical Gwen experience awaits between the casual LA vibe of the lounge and the salubrious ambience of the dining room. Part of The Birdcage experience, this trackside favourite is the perfect spot to see each and every race, up close, all day. Best of all, The Rails Promenade sites come fully furnished, so all you have to do is plan the menu! Bring your own picnic, food and beverages, or let our caterers do it for you. Either way, members can book a fully-furnished site in The Rails Promenade, beautifully fitted out with comfortable seating, spacious tables, shade umbrellas and more. Guests can join your Rails Promenade picnic too, when you purchase a Rails Pedestrian Pass. The Rails Pedestrian Passes allow access throughout The Rails Promenade and The Birdcage. As always, The Rails Promenade offer super screens, betting facilities and easy access to all amenities. Ready to enjoy the best Cup Carnival yet? The VRC will endeavour to allocate the same site for multiple day bookings. Members may purchase up to 10 car sites together via the same Ticketmaster transaction, but will require 1 barcode per car site. This will ensure car sites are allocated as adjoining. The Rails Promenade furnished sites include a clothed dining table, 10 foldable chairs, a food station unit including storage and benchtop, a high bar table and 2 market umbrellas for shelter.
