The museum also offers a carefully curated Museum Store that’s not to be missed.
OKLAHOMA CITY NATIONAL MEMORIAL & MUSEUM
Thirty years ago, a man who hated our government drove a truck to the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown OKC and exploded a 4,800 lb bomb, killing 168 and injuring hundreds more. Now, anti-government rhetoric is at an all-time high, while respectful discourse feels like a thing of the past. The OKC National Memorial & Museum provides all generations with tools and resources for Better Conversations, in addition to sharing stories of the resolve, hope and community spirit that grew after the Murrah Bombing. Built as a tribute to “those who were killed, those who survived, and those who were changed forever,” the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial is designed to be seen by day and by night – they truly are different experiences. The grounds also house the Memorial Museum, which educates the public about the tragedy, its impact and the resiliency of Oklahoma City.
