Lake Hefner
Lake Hefner also has trails for biking, running, in-line skating or a casual walk to enjoy a beautiful Oklahoma sunset. While you’re there, stop by and take a photo at the picturesque lighthouse on the east side of the lake (make sure to use #SeeOKC for all your awesome Instagram pictures). The gorgeous water feature offers sailing and kitesurfing and is home to one of the state’s largest public golf courses. Speaking of golf, Oklahoma City is a haven for any golf lover. The Modern Frontier boasts five public golf courses with varying degrees of difficulty. They are distributed throughout the city, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a good place to tee off. Lincoln Park has two courses that will challenge you, and Trosper Golf Club is described as the fastest playing course in OKC. If you’ve already played a full round on the aforementioned courses, be sure to give the James E. Stewart Golf Course or the Earlywine Golf Course a try. Set to open in the spring of 2025, OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark will be one of Oklahoma City’s premier attractions. Complete with a remarkable indoor waterpark, a one-of-a-kind outdoor adventure lagoon, an amphitheater and event lawn that seats 1,500 people and a family entertainment center, you won’t want to miss your chance to check out OKANA. If you’re looking to relax and enjoy some time in the water, the incoming resort’s outdoor lagoon is the perfect spot.
