furry friend requires certain medications, food, or supplements, outline the brand(s) and how much your animal needs to take.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: autumn! The beautiful red, orange, and yellow leaves completely overtake our trees and create a picture-perfect backdrop. After looking at the fall foliage report from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, this month is the perfect time to take in the breathtaking scenery!
Additionally, if you use specific groomers or day cares, provide the names of each place, driving directions, and frequency of visits. By noting all of this information, you reduce your chances of missing vital parts of your pet’s care. It’s time to set aside your funds! After you’ve outlined your pet’s schedule and the cost to maintain this routine, you can start placing money in your pet trust. Your goal should be to save enough money to last your pet’s lifetime and have additional funds in case of emergencies. If you need any assistance with creating your pet trust, contact us at any time. Here are three of our favorite parks you can stroll around this season.
Moraine State Park 225 Pleasant Valley Rd., Portersville 8 a.m.–4 p.m . This 16,725-acre park is one of the largest in western
Pennsylvania and is the perfect place for a day trip. On top of looking at all the beautiful trees around you, you can do tons of different activities — especially around Lake Arthur, which spans over 3,000 acres. If you’d like to stick with land, you can choose from over 28 miles of hiking and biking trails. You can also try your hand at disc golf by playing the park’s course or go horseback riding on various riding trails.
McConnells Mill State Park 1761 McConnells Mill Rd., Portersville 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
Thousands of years ago, Slippery Rock Creek Gorge in McConnells Mill State Park was born after the drainage of several glacial lakes. The park has over 2,000 acres of land, so you’ll have a chance to explore everything Mother Nature has to offer, from picnicking to kayaking. The park is also loaded with history. During your visit, you can tour the historical mill and learn more about the people who used to work there. Preston Park 415 S. Eberhart Rd., Butler 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Sometimes, there’s nothing better than taking a stroll with your four- legged companion. Luckily, you can take your furry friend to Preston Park with you! As you make your way through the park, you can traverse several walking trails, visit fishing ponds, and learn more about the beautiful wildlife and unique plants scattered around the park. For more information, visit ButlerTWP.org/preston-park. Please note that Preston Park prohibits off-leash dogs, and you are required to pick up after them.

Ingredients
• • •
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
•
2 tbsp xylitol-free peanut butter
2 large eggs
1/2 cup canned pumpkin purée
• •
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 F and grease your baking sheet. 2. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients. The mixture will be dry and crumbly, so add 1 tablespoon of water to moisten the mixture and knead the dough. Add a tablespoon of water at a time while kneading until the dough is a thick but dry consistency. 3. On a floured surface, roll the dough out until it’s around 1/2-inch thick. Using cooking cutters, cut out individual shapes and place them on the baking sheet. 4. Bake for about 35 minutes or until hard. Let cool and serve!
We hope to run into you at one of these parks this month!
