Football score and drought for the Glens
shots on goalie Brandon Lowry, who was scratched off after 20 minutes. The second frame was pure hockey anar- chy, with each team scoring six goals. Glens’ Bradley Gabbour was on fire with a hat trick in less than 10 minutes of play. It was a period to forget for the goalies, who saw the red light fuming six times on both sides with only 18 shots by the Glens and Hawks. The third frame was on the rough side, with a lot of penalties for roughing, char- ging and unsportsmanlike conduct. Both teams got some power play time and each directed 21 shots on the cage. Winchester added four more goals to their count, but it wasn’t enough since Adam Cooke and Duncan MacDonald fired back with the 11th and 12th goals of the game. Bradley Gabbour finished the game with four goals and two assists, cementing him- self as the top pointer of the team and num- ber one in the league. Adam Cooke also had a glorious night with one goal and an impressive five assists. Playing such an exhausting game ended up being costly for the Glens, who simply didn’t have the energy to face the Cassel- man Vikings the next night. Casselman limited Alexandria to 19 shots while bom- barding Nicholas Maheux with 51. The Vikings dominated the second period with three goals and a whooping 27 shots. The Glens were limited to four shots in the third, losing the match 6-0. The Glens will begin a three-game stretch at the Glengarry Sports Palace this Satur- day, against the Brockville Tikis. The Tikis are second in the Rideau division, two points behind the Prescott Flyers. The last time the two teams squared off, Brockville won the duel 6-2. But a lot has changed since then and the Glens are now third in the St. Lawrence division with four wins and nine points in eight games.

ALEXANDRIA | It was all about power play and power offensive last Friday in Win- chester, where the Alexandria Glens won a crazy match 12 to 10. The Glens scored three power plays in the victory while the Hawks scored four, but that wasn’t enough to come on top of the avalanche of goals. Alexandria took a 4-0 lead in the first, thanks to Ryan Sabourin, Connor MacLeod and Luca Ciale. The Glens unleashed 19
