Vaughan Engineering Services Limited provided a comprehensive design-and- build solution across MEP installations at NI Fire & Rescue Service’s new Learning & Development College. The challenging project entailed co- ordinating a diverse range of mechanical, electrical and renewable energy services within the complex building fabric. Matt Potter, Operations Director, said, “It was imperative to ensure that all systems, from the intricate plumbing to the extensive cabling, were not only designed to fit seamlessly but also considered the practicalities of installation. “By investing time at the project’s inception to meticulously coordinate these systems, we were able to mitigate potential clashes and optimise the building’s long-term performance. This proactive approach guaranteed that critical components would remain easily accessible for maintenance and future upgrades, maximising the building’s lifespan and minimising downtime.”
Developing innovative solutions for the facility’s training warehouse and call- out village, which play a pivotal role in enhancing the emergency response skills of the NI Fire & Rescue Service, was a high point of the project. “To ensure the longevity and safety of our installations, we carefully selected materials and designs that were specifically tailored to the demanding environments,” said Matt. “For instance, we incorporated fireproof luminaires and sophisticated smoke extraction systems to mitigate risks and optimise training conditions. “We extend our sincere gratitude to Felix O’Hare for entrusting Vaughan Engineering Services Limited with the privilege of delivering this prestigious contract. “By involving us as integral members of the team throughout every stage of the project, Felix O’Hare has fostered a productive and efficient working relationship.”
