PROJECT PROFILE

NI FIRE & RESCUE SERVICE LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT COLLEGE, COOKSTOWN

CATERING EQUIPMENT

SOFT LANDSCAPING Cameron Landscapes & Garden Centre was delighted to be awarded the landscaping contract for NI Fire & Rescue Service’s new training campus. With extensive planting of semi-mature trees, shrubs and woodland species, the Belfast-based business seeded the entire site with amenity and species-rich grass while also installing aquatic planting around an extensive pond within the grounds. Karl Bonar, who oversaw the project, said, “Our skilled, hard- working team overcame challenges such as working on steep banks and through difficult site conditions over the winter period. We used our high-quality supply chain to deliver a high-quality project over an extensive site.” Representing a visually-impressive addition to Cameron Landscapes’ portfolio, the team was also pleased to continue a strong working relationship with the main contractor. “Cameron Landscapes has worked closely with Felix O’Hare on many high-profile projects throughout NI over the last 15 years and has been rewarded with recognition through the Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland award schemes.”

Stephens Catering Equipment (SCE), the UK and Ireland’s leading catering equipment supplier, was appointed by Felix O’Hare to design, supply, and install a state-of-the-art kitchen for the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Learning & Development College in Cookstown. This project focused on delivering advanced energy-efficient and labour-saving solutions, aligning with modern sustainability goals. The fully-electric kitchen exemplifies a commitment to reducing carbon output, with no gas appliances installed. Key equipment includes Rational iCombi Ovens and an iVario Cooking Centre, offering versatile, high-performance cooking capabilities. Complementing these is a Falcon Induction Range, chosen for its energy efficiency. The installation also features a Frymaster Filtration Suite, designed to reduce oil usage, a Moffat servery and a walk-in cold room. SCE’s in-house fabrication department produced custom elements, including a seamless stainless-steel canopy, central spine and tabling. With nearly five decades of expertise, SCE has built a trusted partnership with Felix O’Hare, previously collaborating on landmark projects such as Riddel Hall at Queen’s University Belfast.
